Anybody ever try the Atkins Diet?
by El Kabong inok, this has probably been discussed before, but, how many here have tried the atkins diet?
did you have a good/bad experience with this diet.
the reason i ask is because i went to my doctor and my bp is way up.

Two weeks ,didn't like it ,no coffee,lost 14 pounds,maybe 5 was water! Stopped it ,went back to coffee and old eating habits,gained the weight back,ugh! Lost it again by watching what I eat,no drastics diets anymore for me.Its a lifetime battle of sensible eating and exercise,no quick way.

Hi MINIMUS,No,Idon't pray anymore at all.I don't know who to address:I don't know God,I don't know Jesus.I can't talk to an abstract being that I am not aware of.And who has not made me aware of his presence.I can't go by the Bible anymore,and I have no personal experience otherwise,so I don't pray anymore.

Does it make any logical sense that man should have go through all this confusion,horror and death, when God admits man is bent out of shape and can't do what God requires of him in this condition.And yet God will still hold him responsible to do what he simply cannot do in this condition,or punish him severly,now and later.
Now I know God says good things about man also,yet ,it does not matter ,because ,we still undergo the present short life span with all it's strains.

Did You Put Off Saving For Retirement?

i felt that long before retirement age the new system would be here and i would have no money worries.
as the years rolled by and i didn't have any thing saved for retirement, i became more and more anxious.

Ido sympathize with you Blueblades because there are so many people who did put spiritual interest first and are now suffering materially.For some faithful JW'S,the golden years are turning into the financial crises years.
In the United States,the bottom line is money and the WTS.understands that.That is why the WT. has its publishers and pioners out there pushing their products.The WTS.has cheap labor--its free! At the end of the day ,the pioneers and publishers suffer. Happy Sistah.Thank you for your understanding.

Hi SHAKITA.Yes! Back on March 9th I posted this thread,"Lest We Forget--Unplanned Retirement".
Shutterbug pointed this out in the awake issue may 22,1969 page 15."As a young person you will "NEVER"fulfill any career that this system offers".
Freedom96 wrote,"This is yet another example of how the WTS.hurts people,and they offer nothing to help.I feel for those who spent so much time in the organization,and now reality hits,and something has to be done.For way too many it is too late".
I wrote:"Of the many abuses that the Society is responsible for is the unplanned retirement of so many who have given their youth and strength and have sacrificed their whole lives, even selling their homes and businesses,not going to college etc.on the words coming out of the so-called slaves mouth that we trusted in about an "END" that never materialized.
Many are now turning more attention to their personal finances as many more face an unplanned retirement.Many are hopelessly in debt and burdened with mental/emotional problems from years of pioneering and slaving until they can give no more.Disappointed from an "END" that never materialized.

I am one of many who have become a victim of this kind of abuse.So,for those of you who are young and still have years ahead of you,avoid having to wake up to the realization of an unplanned retirement.By all means plan for your future,do not let this abuse of enslavement of your youth ensnare you as the WT.study for today is continuing to try to do to the unwary.
How many on this forum can testify to the years of service they gave to the Society and now have to try and recover from an unplanned retirement as I am doing now?
Blueblades,60 years old and making up for lost time (32yrs.a wt.slave) and involved in a new career in the health field and not planning to retire for a long time yet.
Shakita, thank you for reviving this topic again,for so many need to be reminded of this abuse,so many of our elderly are still suffering because of it.

in the elder flock book there is a little known "right" that the rank and file are not told when they lose their appeal.. that is that you have the "right"to appeal an appeal.you can request the appeal committee to forward their decision to the branch office and have them review all the decisions once again.. however ,when the appeal committee hides this "right"from you and does not inform you about this "right"there is an error in judgment on their part.. hence you are "not"disfellowedshipped when denied this "right"as outlined in the flock book for elders to follow when hearing an appeal.. i know that as far as the announcement that is made prior to this "right"everyone will treat you as such,not knowing that there has been a miscarriage of justice against you.. it is true that the branch office may uphold the appeal decision,but, that is not the issue here.. has anyone ever used this "right" or,been told of it by the appeal committee and had their decisions overturned.in the case of a family member we were not told.. blueblades

Exactly! How can they bring up something that they are not aware of?
Withholding this information deliberately shows that they do not carry on judgment in righteousness and do not represent Christ in personality and character.
Can you picture Christ withholding back an opportunity for justice and mercy for the wrong doer?
Showing compassion and forgiveness looking for every opportunity to restore and save is the way Christ is.
But then we know that already,don't we Minimus.

Hi MINIMUS.If they don't inform first ,then they are not following the direction from the slave,as per the flock book,as I have posted.
To wait on the accused who may not know his "RIGHTS" and not inform him/her is to deliberately hold back information that could prevent a miscarraige of justice on the part of these righteous men judging in righteousness.

Hi GOPHER.The main reason for this post is to find out if anyone has been informed by the appeal committee that they still can appeal further to the branch.
I agree with you,that the likelyhood of the branch overturning the original decision of six men is not going to happen.
If one has not been informed,why not?And if so ,what was the outcome.
