  Were You PERSONALLY Affected By 9/11?

  did you know someone who actually lost their life because of what happened on september 11?

  One of the jw sister's got out on time she worked in the lobby. She was in our congregation. My co- worker at JFKIA lost his daughter in the WTC. We all made a collection for the family. My co-workers at JFKIA had an few offices in the trade center, their gone now too.

  My wife and I witnessed the second plane crash into the tower from my roof top in Bklyn, listening to the radio at the same time, just across from the bay.

  It was a surreal day for us. I just left the grave yard shift at Kennedy and was going to bed when my wife told me to come to the televison that they were showing that a plane crashed into the WTC. We went up to the roof and the birds were flying or were blasted over our heads from the direction of the WTC. into Bklyn. and then we saw the second plane approach and crash into the WTC.

  We criedfor all the loss and shattered lives that morning.

  Each day as I traveled to JFKIA a train of trucks would pass me with the debris from the trade center to be sorted out at the Staten Island dump site. This went on for months and the smell when the trucks passed was overwhelming.

  Yes we were personally affected by 911.

  Our son use to lay rat traps at the WTC. and we thought that he was there at the time. We were scared for him. It turned out that he was taking a test out in queens and found out about the WTC. about 4 hours later.

  Our hearts were stopped that morning.

  Thanks Blondie. We are enjoying our breakfast buffet on the weekends and no longer knocking on doors. My wife is standing next to me patiently waiting for me to take her out for breakfast. So, I'm kind of in a hurry in my response to q14 insert.

  Free Will is a whole subject in itself. Q14 The Wts definition is simplex.

  Quote "Unlimited freedom would mean anarchy in society" History has demonstrated that even with limited freedom there has been anarchy in society.

  The issue here is Self Determination. Deciding for oneself what is right and what is wrong.

  There has been tomes of writing about what free will is and is not. Again the wts definition is simplex.

  The study of Free Will vs.Self Determination and Total Freedom vs Relative Freedom gives one pause.

  The wts wants to control the rank and file by restricting what they can and cannot do and what they must do within the bounds of limited freedom and they must have no self determination if they want "The Carrot".

  The wts has and uses all the freedom it needs to use to keep the rank and file doing more without true freedom for themselves.

  WHERE WERE YOU 7 YEARS AGO?

  guess i'll be the first one to do an (inevitable) thread about 9-11. hard to believe it's been 7 years already.

  i was at work when one of my co-workers came up and told me that a plane had hit the world trade center.

  i thought it was awful, but i figured it was a small single engine plane that maybe lost its way in the fog.

  I was just going to bed, as I worked the graveyard shift and had just left JFKIA. were I worked at the time.My wife told me that a plane had just crashed into the WTC. We went up to the roof and from there saw the second plane fly into the WTC. with our own eyes while listening to it on the news at the same time,it was surreal. We had debris fall on us from the Trade center. We lost people who worked at JFKIA and had offices in the trade center. So much lost of life.

  "Do not destroy" your file after reinstatement ...

  karl adams, writing department overseer, wrote a letter to president knorr (november 18, 1971), questioning the keeping of voluminous files containing embarrassing information on disfellowshipped persons.

  even after individuals were reinstated, their files were retained:.

  "at the present time the names of even those reinstated are kept in the file, and bulky records are kept of their cases, labeled 'do no destroy.

  My understanding of this is that every SEVEN years the elders are to go through the files and clean them out. This is what we did in our congregation back in Brooklyn. There is a Kingdom Ministry that give the direction on this ( I don't remember the year, somewher in the 90's ). I was assigned to clear out the files of anyone who was no longer asssociated with the watchtower. Also, those who were reinstated had their files cleaned up.

  He does not realize that it was a 2/3rds vote that made 1914 the start of the last days. The other 1/3 vote disagreed, even voting for the year 1956 as the start of the last days. It is all about the voting, no inspiration there.

  HERE'S A BOMBSHELL ABOUT THE 144,000 DOCTRINE......

  just when you think you've heard it all............in my research for my project, i was doing some digging around on the subject of the 144,000 and came across something in the wts's literature that absolutely stunned me and, being the generous soul that i am , wanted to pass it on to you to get your thoughts on this.. .

  we all know that the society teaches that the 144,000 mentioned in revelation is speaking of "spiritual israel" and not 'fleshly israel' or even other christians in general right?

  there are countless quotes throughout the literature that we are all familiar with that specifically state this, but to drive home a point, here are a few:.

  Mini I think that the members part with all of the threads will be archived so that we can go back and read them. You will be preserved in the archives.

  One ship docks and another pulls away. I will be on this ship until it docks for good. Then I will be going aboard the other ship. Afterall, I am a Navy man.

  this may not be my last post on jwd but i feel the time has come for some kind of "goodbye thread" nonetheless.. i first ventured on (french-speaking) xjw forums in 2003, when my own jw past was already old history and practically meaningless to any of my acquaintances in so-called "real life".

  looking back, beyond mere curiosity i certainly felt the need to revisit this almost-forgotten chapter of my life story.

  what especially drew me to jwd and made me stick to it for the past five years was undoubtedly the extraordinary diversity of this board, and the wealth of experience, information and reflection it offered.

  thanks to this site, not only am i free of the mental imprisonment, but i am also free of the fear that the society used to keep me and others like me silent.. i am not a witness anymore because the truth is not what we are directred to think it is.

  once we allow ourselves to think, it is clear as day that there is no real basis for anyone to take the title of faithful and discreet slave.

  there are folders and lists which contain the names of pedophiles who were never turned over to the proper authorities for their crimes.
