i was talking to someone a few years ago and he said in his congregation they have a rail of white shirts prepared in the cloakroom for if a speaker doesn't have a white shirt on.
it was a rule in their hall that all brothers in the platform must wear white shirts when going talks and if the speaker won't comply when asked to change into the shirt they provide an elder in the congregation will do the talk instead.
i have never known any other halls do it so it must be a rule the elders have made up without gb input.
My favorite rule came direct from the Borg, don't hold your significant others hand during the prayer cause it can be distracting.
A more ridiculous one though, a sister i know was counseled for wearing a thong because her lack of panty line was distracting.
was there one certain event or was it more a cumulative thing?.
The final straw for me was realizing men thought the could control my relationship with god.
a couple of times at the meetings this year we've been told that in the future we might get some strange directions from the society that might not make any sense to us.
then they've said will we show our loyalty to jehovah by still obeying?
seems a rather unusual thing to say.

i think the wt will never give up this practice unless forced to by the courts, even if they are financially failing terribly they will keep it because the moment they do get rid of it the whole thing will collapse even faster and they know it(or afraid of it happening).

I was in a debate with my daughter and asked her if they had a textbook to help them read and understand their main text book at school. I got a no with an eyerolll for an answer. So then why do we need to be guided to study the bible??
