Kate as long as you use a very reasonable amount I would probably be okay with it.
What is wrong with this rule.... Your personal fragrances should not be noticeable outside of your own personal space. Am I being unreasonable here?
way to early on a saturday morning we got a ring on our doorbell.
someone else answered the door.
after they left i walked by our entry way and gagged from the smell!

The only way to avoid fragrances it to not breathe.
That is not an option!

For a Migraine suffer even if you are not in a headache.... strong chemical scents can cause overwhelming pain! Unfortunately your sense of smell is connected to your emotional part of your brain on a deep level. So it affects you very very deeply.
Virtually everybody has some sensitives... For some it is scent, others visual, others it will be touch and other ir might be sound, others it is motion (car sickness) Even though most people experience some sensitivities they are completely callous to people who experience difference sensitives.
What If my OP had said JW's came to my door, and when I answered it they flashed a laser light in my eyes... Or what at if I said as soon as I opened the door they started playing extremely loud music. Or what if I said they constantly touched me after I opened the door.
I am sure if I had used any of those previous examples... I would have tons of support. All of those things are rude and unacceptable. What you have to understand... even though you as well are sensitive to those sensations.
How come when it comes to lights and sound and touching we have to be polite... but not when it comes to fragrances. If some one shines a bright light in your eyes you can close your eyes. If noise is too loud, you can put in ear plugs. If touch bothers you you can move away from the offender.

rebelfighter thank you for your support.
Unfortunately it is obvious in this thread that the vast majority people have NO IDEA how severe a fragrance sensitivity can be. Since you have never experienced it you are cold to other peoples complaints. Well maybe you say well I am sensitive also... but I deal with it so you must as well. If you have that attitude there is no way in the world you understand my plight (mine doesn't sound nearly as severe as rebelfighter).
You overwhelm me with the wrong scent... I will be sick for DAYS. No sorry I will not just "deal with it".

You guys don't understand... I have no issue with people wearing perfume. If you wear perfume it needs to be subtle enough that some one needs to enter your personal space before they can smell it. I am in no way criticizing people who where a reasonable amount... Or if they stay in their own space.
They never came in the house... and yet after they left... the scent was over powering INSIDE my home. That is rude.

I wasn't going to stand for it. It was rude. We have people in our home that are very fragrance sensitive. I stopped them as they where walking away. I said "Your Perfume is too strong it is very rude!" They say "I am sorry I didn't see a sign" I tell them there ministry would be much more effective if they weren't rude with there fragrances. People have asthma and headaches and you can make them sick... it isn't the way to spread the good news. The response was simply "I will tell them not to bother you any more"
Are they so used to persecution and rejection that any negative comments are automatically dismissed? I will admit my tone was sharp with them.. only because I know how important this issue is for many people.. But I was in no way rude, and as a matter of fact I gave them good advice on how to improve their ministry.
When did it become old fashion to treat other peoples personal space with anything but the greatest respect? If you are invited to someones home you must take GREAT care to not in any way offend the host. These people weren't even invited!

LisaRose here is the problem... he insists on his right to self representation. It is hard to mount a defense if you can't be in the courtroom.
I really don't know what to make of this case. There are to many opposing interests that all need to be met. I am glad I am not this judge.

So I understand that the defendant might be a very bad guy, and you do need to maintain some order in a courtroom. However what do you think about this case? There is two major issues... #1 I am very uncomfortable giving a judge the power to shock the defendant at any time. AND (maybe even a worse issue) #2 It happened in front of the jury! How does watching a defendant get shocked NOT taint the jury? If nothing else it should be grounds for a miss trial.

For Mormons it is built into their philosophy/theology to be "preppers". I think this is an excellent idea. We are way to defendant on modern distribution system for all the services we use. It really wouldn't take much to disrupt and send us back to the stone age. Many Mormons would be prepared if that ever happened.
JW's also believe a major catastrophy is coming, but they don't suggest anyone prepare for it. (other than converting)
i am noticing that when some of the ads run, the page keeps scrolling upward towards them.
this is annoying and should be addressed, as it makes some threads almost impossible to read.
have same effect on two different oss, (same browser type, firefox).
Those that are having trouble... what browser are you using?
I always use Firefox. I think there is an issue with certain scripts running Firefox. It seems those that use Chrome have a better experience.
