Don't you just love how their so smug, just already knowing that the sheeple will pass it!
I was in one congregation that voted down a money grab once, back in the 70's. They took the vote two more times, failed rack time! They even had a different eldub talk for twenty minutes before the last vote!
The next Thursday, we had a thirty minute part about following theocratic order. After that flogging, it passed by one vote, with several, not voting at all!
well that`s what was impressed on me to differentiate between the true religion and false religion , when i was converted in 1960 , do they still claim that ?
believing that they still do , i will say this.. what about ,:the governing body who definitely are set apart from the rank and file for their attitude towards the r&f , but also from the attitude of the r&f towards the governing body members.many do seem to idolise gb members by their actions , and the gb members dont seem to discourage that.. and not only for their attitude , how about their life-style , being housed in bethel with all the mod -cons of modern civilization as opposed to a r&f member living in a third world country .does the wt society do anything to make their lifestyle improve ?

I was in for 54 of my 58 years. I have said for a very long time now, that just because they are not paid, dose not make them any less of a Clergy class. The org is so full of different "Class" groups, it so not funny!!!!!! And many in one on one conversations, often agree, even laugh about it!!!!

i still go to the meetings because of my in wife and it came about that the elders knew of my pissed off attitude about the society getting involved in the un.
so the elders said they could help me get over that and wanted to meet with me.
now just to let you know, i have only told my wife and her mom so far about it, that's it.
By now I would bet all elders have heard about this UN stuff, and how to respond to it! Including the acting dumb part!
And they are ready with the gotcha questions. Do you still want to be a jw? Any answer besides, YES! will get you the door! I am not sure, I need to think about it, etc etc!

when all the money from from the new york and london bethels has been used up,how many kingdom halls do people think will have to be sold off per year ?.
Believe it or not the new LDC/RBC is getting ready to kick into gear. My brother in law, has been to three planning meetings over the last few months. He says, they have lots of projects all kind up, and ready to start next year.
Time will tell.

if a jw wanted to get a concealed carry permit, would the society have any moral or ethical problems with it?
in other words, if one of your elders noticed you were carrying concealed, would they be apt to just ignore it or would they counsel you on it?

In my area, lots of jw's own firearms of all types! My brother in law is an elgrub, and has three hand guns. One under his pillow, one by hs recliner,a and last, on in a hidden compartment by the door!
My wife's son's FIL, also has handguns, under his mattress, chair, and car!
I know a lot of others with handguns as well!
One nearby congregation, often have get togethers, that includes target shooting, with all the elgubs, taking part! Handgun and rifles included!
I have four rifles and two handguns!

The friends that received the most help, had to give most of the FEMA money to the wt program, along with any insurance money received towards fixing their houses. My brother's place was torn up pretty badly, but because, his place wasn't in the area declared, by the sate, he received no money or help, from FEMA. The wt gang came by, looked it all over, and put a few cheap tarp's over his roof, called it good, and never came back. His insurance for due to some loop hole never paid a dime. So tarp's was the only help at all from wt. yet they went way of of their way to even totally rebuild a number of jw homes in the same area, including the mother of the (PO/cobe aka Head Jackass in charge!!!) that also had no insurance or money. What makes it even sadder from my viewpoint, is how much work my brother did helping do all the work he could, on many of the others places, just knowing he was going to revive some real help.

according to my elder in law, by next year the number of dc/rc's will increase by 143. the size of conventions will get smaller.
the elder in law says the goal is to make them all have around 2,000 or so at each.
they are going to make more manuals detailing each job and it's responsibilities.
I had another talk with the elder BIW Thursday, after he got back from the walk through for the RC this past weekend. Now he said that the 140 number isn't all, but that over the next few years, they plan to add more than 200+ over the next few years.
He got pretty upset with me, when I said that all those big 7 & 8 day assembly's weren't needed, that they were such a burden on family's, and that looking back on them, so much of what was talked about, would now be "old light" and that almost every single publication received, are now on the list we're now discourage from reading!
