The one that stands out for me was Bill Baxter, in the Atlanta area back in 84. He was so kind and caring. My dear sweet grandma, died, and I missed his visit. Two week's later on a Monday evening, he and his wife showed up at my door, just to visit!!!!

when i was younger i used to hear about "marking talks" given in the past.
i believe they stopped in the 80's or 90's.
basically, if someone wasn't baptized or doing something unrepentant, they would get a "marking talk" and be treated the same as a df person.
The congregation I was in until about two years ago, used marking talks pretty often!
My first wife had been studying for two years before we got married, and got baptised two weeks before we got married. I never told her, that I was going to be marked, and have a special talk marking me, if she wasn't baptised! I had not understood that I would be marked, because she had made it plain she was going to get baptised in the spring, but changed and did it at the end of summer!

having been a jw for decades i'm used to watching what i do, say, or watch, in fear of being snitched on.. therefore, i the question begs.. there have been instances, i won't say how, where i've felt some members are being deliberate in their attempt to feign support for the anti-jw rhetoric on this forum.. any input is greatly appreciated..
I had been reading this site for about a year before joining. Then I judged posted bit's now and then. I finally posted my awaking story. I thought I had changed enough information around to keep from getting ID'ed! We a few weeks went by, and I received a pm, from another exjw, saying I think I my know who you are! For three weeks, I lived in fear, being I am still pretending to be in. My mind was running wild, trying to figure out who it could be. Then I got a call over Skype. It turned out to be someone living about 50 miles away, and totally out. Turned out that my wife's oldest girl, and told his girl's all about my story, and he put 2 and 2 together! I have visited him and the family a few times, it great to have someone near by!
I went back and edited my story even more!
