A basic mistake a lot of parents who own firearms have made in the past though is (Perhaps inadvertently) creating the ultimate "Forbidden fruit."
Winner winner, chicken dinner!
We are members at an outdoor range that has skeet shooting, rifle ranges, pistol ranges, archery ranges and fishing. My kids know that we can go shooting anytime they like to fish, shoot or practice archery. They have had hunter safety classes, firearms safety training and, pretty much any day of the week go shooting if they like. Every time they go they are reminded of safety rules, have to practice them and have to clean the guns when they are done.
Guns are absolutely no mystery to them and there is no fascination with them whatsoever. They are both excellent shots, know safety inside and out and have never attempted to play with a gun unsupervised. There is no mystery there.

I won't ask you to think before you rant, Viviane, since you seem unequipped to the task.
Well, not at the 5 year old level it would require to talk to you, so thanks not asking me to dumb down.
Anyway, there is absolutely nothing wrong with taking a 5 year old to the range and, with proper supervision, teaching them the begginings of firearms basics. Nor is there anything wrong with allowing them to help in the kitchen and teaching them stove and knife safety or teaching them the beginning basics and safetey of a bow and arrow.
The hyperbole associated with the screeds that assume someone is handing a 5-year old a gun and saying "Enjoy!" while chugging a beer and lighting Marlboro is, well, thinking at the level of a 5 year old.

Atheists, here is a 'balls' question ---even for all---
by prologos init is very difficult to knock a ball into a hole (like golf), throw it into a receiver's hands (american football) intercept it and knock it over the fence (american cricket).
or to put a sattelite at the right time at the right speed in the right direction in the right place to have it orbit another body, so :.
what ingenious natural & process is it, than can get 9+ zillions bodies to get into the right orbit simultaniously or sequentially and have them remain there for billions of years?

I am not the last one to have stumbled and desk-top published -- concerning the possible connection between the solar eigen-pulsation WAVELENGTH and the pattern in the doubling and equal spacing of the orbits.
*sigh*.... Bod-Titius doesn't work. For the 100th time.
twich, I have been working FROM the astronomical tables, that were available in libraries, -[no need (or ability)* to post them]- and later from data available on line of asteroid and TNO orbits,
Actually, if you want people to accept your comparisons, that's EXACTLY what you have to do.
all i did was found the hidden patterns, regularities sequences in the distances, the means, the excentricities. all amazingly related, no doubt caused by the the natural laws.
To be clear, you first tried to push Bod-Titius as being correct, then tried to claim there was an amended Bode-Titius that predicted something else, and JUST tried to claim you found hidden patterns that you didn't actually "find" until I corrected your math and NOW you are trying to claim that there is some hidden law that governs the observations.
* remember my technical handicap: pushing 90, and pushing a 2 year old daughter in the stroller.
Or your handicap is, as it's also known, not telling the truth.
160 light minutes relates to the maximal orbital spacings of Saturn, to Uranus -to- Pluto
160 light minutes is the DIAMETER difference between each of these orbits, the maximum seen in the planetary ball game.
300 light seconds, the 5 minute solar pulsation corresponds to the smallest seen orbit DIAMETER spacing Mercure-Venus-Earth.
Utter nonsense.

Jesus had to die? Really?
by punkofnice ini admit i no longer believe in god and holy books.. thinking of the made up 'universal sovereignty' thing, surely if god existed in the way the holy books describe him then he could have thought of something better than humankind suffering thousands of years and the slaughter of jesus?.
couldn't god have said: 'well, satan is a very naughty boy but you all know how great i am so we can end it now.
i will lovingly kill satan and his mates and that's that.

I think we are underestimating God's love.
If God is truly what Christians claim, them love cannot be something he has.

The NYPD shoots for me. I pay taxes.
Lack self awareness much, BoTR?
News-flash you can not teach a 5 year old how to "use a gun responsibly" Why?
Of course not, you start to teach them at 5. Sheesh, girl, think before you rant!

Now you're just babbling. At least you ended with consistent utter nonsense.
Besides, you got caught lying. If you don't like for people to point that out, don't lie.

Order in the universe
by Rattigan350 inthis topic was covered in book study last night.
some commented that the universe is ordered and the stars don't collide.. that has nothing to do with order.
it is more to do with that there is more space between the stars and planets and things go between them if they were in the same area.. and do they not consider that the many things that colliided with the moon to make those crators?.

well, explain it please. there are more here that do not fully understand,( but like to), than you,-- who does. not vouching for the veracity of that one.
Or, do your own homework!
re: ~ balanced, the balance tips in favor of energy, dark energy. that is why the universe's expansion is accelerating. energy winning over mass/gravity.
Energy and matter are the same thing.
there is thought to have been a slight IMBALANCE between matter and anti matter. we won.
Excellent point and totally off topic.

Value? any.
look at an equation as weights on a balanced beam. you can manipulate them multiply both by 2. equality is unchanged, but the total value on both side quadruplet.
You haven't defined what you mean by "value".
to me,and some others here, the idea that the universe has zero energy because energy/velocities & mass, gravity are ~ balanced,
It's not ~ balanced. It IS balanced.
does not mean that the universe has no energy, or was created without energy input.
Belief doesn't make something true. You have all your work ahead you to prove anything other than zero-sum energy.
It took energy to make and put these balancing weights on the scale.
You clearly don't understand the concept of the total energy of the universe being zero.
On shining longer: perhaps the wt god can have the sun expell the ashes, the iron, in exchange for the new exo-galactic gas to give the sun longer luster but keep the total mass below the collapse-limit.
Oh look, an attempt at humor to deflect away from you not knowing what you were talking about.
