The problem, pacloc, is that you started out by insulting people, being wrong, and then trying to use platitudes and bad logic with people that have spent a lot of time thinking about these things. You don't get intellctual pushovers here.

As Christians, we have no right or way of knowing someone's relationship with God.
And yet, when confronted with simple questions, you claim to know what others believe and start insulting people. You aren't a very good example of an adult that's thought things through.
Hospitals, Universities, and advances in science were started by the Church. Once again an atheist that cannot understand the word "and." You either do something practical, or only leave it up to God, Heaven forbid you do both.
Actually, most of those things were really started by Muslims. Christians were a later footnote. History and knowledge are powerful things. You should try them.

Thats physics. Physics also shows we can exist in two places at once.
That's 11 dimensional M-theory, part of string theory, not proven physics. And physics does not show we can exist in two places at once. You are confusing quantum wave function with macro objects.

Island, you miss the point of my question, I think. I am familiar with the connotations of the the word spirit. What I am asking is what it is. If angels and demons and Satan and God are spirits and there is holy spirit and people have a spirit, what is this stuff made of. It has to be something. What is that something. What are it's properties and how do we know?
That is what I am after.

- Angels and demons are not spirit

- It is breath (meaning plants and paramecium also have spirit)
- It's the holy ghost
- It's the non-physical part of people
- It's how you hear God
- It connects to our consciousness to form reality
- It connects us to higher dimensions
Still no answer of what it actually IS. The metaphor answer is closest, it's essentially the same as "it's breath" meaning it's nothing special. Every answer has defined spirit in other un-defined terms. For something so many people are sure exists, it's interesting that no one knows what it is made ofand there seems to be wide disagreement on it even what it does.
So, it remains, what is spirit? Whatis it made of?

That was just to illustrate there are fundamental questions that humanity is still struggling to answer. When the material world is examined to its nuts and bolts, it turns out not be to be material at all, but rather ‘clouds’ of probabilities.

The Greek word for "spirit" comes from a root word meaning "breathe or blow." The Hebrew word for "spirit" is believed to come from a root having the same meaning. Both words for "spirit" basically mean "breath" but have extended meanings beyond that basic sense.

They do not have a physical body so they are not made up of anything that we could describe in physical terms. I don't claim to know much about the angels other than what is revealed in scripture and through Church Tradition.

Circles are at least complete, you have offered nothing to the matter. I know for a fact that the JWs view of the Holy Spirit is wrong because it fails in all ways, both scientifically (since it cannot be proven through experiment) and scripturely/theologically.

I wasn't really talking to anyone in particular with my second statement, I definitely was not trying to say what I thought you believed in.
But you were. I don't believe in God and you presumed to attempt to tell me what I beleived in and worshipped. I was exactly the target of that. Why do you presume you have the knowledge and experience to tell me what I worship, think or believe?
Just trying to defend God's Justice against that of pure chance and despair.
Mistakenly making claims about what others believe when there is absolutely no way you could know that is not a good start. Feel free to start a thread on it!
As for your questions about spirits, no angels and demons are creatures like us humans in the sense that they have free will and have been given Divine Spirit.
But the Bible claims they are spirits. Are you claiming that is just metaphorical? Are they invisible flesh? What are they made of? I ask this because angels, demons, God, Jesus, etc., are traditionally called spirits, non-flesh. If spirit is metaphorical, then what ARE they made of? Also, if the Holy spirit IS spirit, you STILL have yet to tell me what it's made of.
You aren't answering the question, you're just answering it with another mystery.
You don't want to fall into the mistake of calling the Holy Spirit electricity like the JWs, that is why we call it a person of the Trinity.
Your explanation is no better. They are like us, but not, it's emotions and intent except when it's not. You aren't saying, you're just talking in circles without telling what any of these things are.
