One aspect of evolution that does not make sense.....
by EndofMysteries inthe part that does make sense are how bodies adapt over time to surroundings and use.
for example because of eating habits changing, our jaws have become smaller and we don't need wisdom teeth.
or the effect of the sun on our skin, etc.

Oh yeah, if real numbers evolved from Dedikin cuts, why are there still Dedikin cuts?

Do athiests believe it's possible that aliens, not all powerful God created man?
by EndofMysteries ini've sort of mentioned this as a different possibility in response to other threads but i was curious if any of you athiests all think that life just evolved on this earth from single cell organisms or if you ever thought it's possible that intelligent life long ago w/ advanced science could have made humans and much of life on earth and just dumped it here or made it here.
.
i'm not making this thread to debate, i am just curious if any of you have come up with other ideas on your own as possibilities since all we have for the origin of life are just theories right now.

On the contrary, we don't have any idea what the odds were.
On the tertiary, the odds were exactly 1 since it happened :)

When it's your time to go...............
by Night Owl inif you believe "when it's your time to go, it's your time to go" then cause of death does not matter.
plane crash, school shooting, accident, war, or anything else.. if you have this mind set, then any event resulting in a human death is just fulfilling a pre-determined destiny for that human.. you also cannot pick and choose as to which event, or rather, death, is in the "when it's your time to go, it's your time to go" scheme of things or not.. nightowl.

Bumping to see OTWO's response. It appears a lot of the supporters of evolution are being exposed for not understanding their own beliefs.
A lot? Can you mathematically quantify "a lot"? If not, then what you wrote is meaningless.
I see a ton of responses to EOM's question but I don't see any answers.
I see someone that is ignoring answers and embracing ignorance.
Its evident none of you understand your own beliefs. If you did you wouldn't be posting links to random articles or be answering every question with go read a book.
Why do you expect to be spoonfed knowledge, too lazy to do any work yourself?
If you actually understood your beliefs you'd be able to explain them yourselves. Just like how I can explain algebra to my niece without telling her to read a book or linking random articles that I didn't read.
Oh, a false analogy, I love these!
Your neice DOES have a book she is using and is trying to understand. You explaining algebra to her is not doing the work for her. You aren't doing her homework or taking the test for her (and if you are, shame on you). You are helping her to understand. If, however, she acted as petulant as you, she would ask for the answer, complain that you are explaining it using numbers AND letters and complain you don't know what you are talking about.
You've been given answers time and time again and pointed to more resources to help you with specific offers to explain specific items you don't understand, yet you whine about not having answers. Asking for more is just pure laziness or a desire to stay ignorant.

- Question asked: "Why would individuals start down that path?" Answer: James 2:26: "Faith without works is dead". Speaker said: 'They are LAZY! They don't want to do Jehovah's work, going to meetings or in the ministry.' They experience a "shipwreck of their faith"
Yes, it's because I'm lazy, it couldn't possibly be because they're full of sh*t.

I know. Gay people are normal people just like everyone else. Shocking. And disgraceful. How dare they try to pretend to be normal like the rest of us.

Atheists Are More Advantaged Than The Religious Teachers!
by exWTslave in1) if an atheist becomes selfish, others have no reason to be discouraged.
but see what happens if a religious leader becomes selfish, many may copy his behavior.

Give me an example please, this statement is a fallacy. Science cannot prove God does not exist, hence science does not make God redundant. Many scientists believe in God.
Cofty just said he doesn't know anyone who think science proves no gods or godesses cannot exist, but he has said previously that science can conclusively prove the god in the bible doesn't exist. The statement you are quoting from him, about god being redundant, isn't saying no gods exist.
He's simply saying that, in the past, places where "God did it" was the answer now have actual answers that aren't "God" or "Jesus".
At present nothing has convinced me there is no creator.
If that is your measure for deciding if things exist, then you should also believe in:
- Unicorns
- Bigfoot
- Chupacabra
- Harpies
- Medusa
- Zeus
- Ewah
- Cetan
- Chakora
-....
And a host of other myths and legends.

You're free to disagree, of cours, Ag, but looking at EOMs posting history, this type of post and rejection of evidence has been going on for years with no attempt at getting actual knowledge or doing study on the subject. It's very typical of his (or hers) "gotcha" style of trying to argue against the fact of evolution.
