spiritual is only what each individual believes it to be.
That's an interesting one, but it's a restatement of one we have covered in the form of "it can be everything and nothing". Still no closer to ananswer.
i've always wondered that.
recently i asked that question on another thread and didn't really get ananswer.
cofty made an excellent point that we often hear what it isn't, but that really isn't useful.. so, what is it?

Therefore our human spirit in all its guises is a combination of the brains formulation of our desires and goals for whatever purpose and the way we bring that to fruition.
That boils down to "It's a metaphor". In this case, it's a metaphor for thinking.
i've always wondered that.

he truth is .....we are not privy at this time to understand
Caliber, as I said, your answer is "Caliber doesn't know". I appreciate that you admitted that rather than double down after you claimed to know.
i've always wondered that.

Interesting, prologos. You are positing that spirit is the mind, basically a brain working, intelligence. It's also DNA and information in action.
The first two are simply metaphors for things that already exist, the third is a way of saying "Prologos doesn't know" as that doesn't make any sense, both of which have been covered.
We are still no closer to an answer.

Interesting analogy, Caliber. So we still don't know? I'm not giving you a bath.
Can you tell us what spirit is comprised of, Caliber? You calimed you knew, yet we, including you, still have no answer.
i've always wondered that.

We'll need another summary soon...
Cofty, I've not had a landline in 12 years. I have municipal fiber for internet and TV direct to my door.
anyone else get the distinct impression that jws are being worked up into a frenzy with all the changes and activity nowadays?
by the end of august, there will have been four campaigns inside of a year.
one last november, a memorial campaign, a convention campaign and an advertise jw.org campaign.. then there's the conventions with all the hooplah around that with all the video, and the aggrandizement of synchronized gb talks.
WTWizard, thanks for pointing out on a regular basis the absurdity of beleiving in the Bible and God. Thumbs up!
i've always wondered that.

So the telephone directory on my bookshelf is "spirit" is it?
A ghost of technology past ;) Seriously, who uses an actual directory anymore? (I was at my CPA's office today and she used one. I told her I hadn't seen anyoneuse an actual paper directory in ages)...
i've always wondered that.

You don't have a problem with not being able to name an element or substance that spirit is made from.
I get that, but if you can't detect it, tell anyone what it's made of, see it, feel it, etc., then it may as well not exist. If you CAN detect it but don't know what it's comprised of, why wouldn't you just say "I don't know, let's go work on that"?
i've always wondered that.

it is information, no matter what is the carrier,-- or the embodiment it takes,-- to carry it.
That makes DNA, TV, mail, a database, hard drive,a powepoint presentation, a book, a letter, etc., all spirits. Is that what you meant?
