Mobile Hotspot - JWFACTS.COM - Assembly & Conventions
by thedepressedsoul inhere is an idea i tested.
works at both assemblies and conventions.
i have noticed at the last convention and at my last assembly that when i opened up my wifi setting, tons of hotspots came up for people tethering their tablets to their smart phones.

The range of a battery powered mobile hotspot is typically going to be 10-15 meters. -

If I create an open hotspot using my mobile phone, can those who access it see anything on my device, eg photo's or device information etc?
Depends on the device and your settings. I recommend 1) the manual and 2) testing it
When setting it up make it where a password is required them they can't get in. Make it something know one will know, like 1884
Oh, please don't use that.

How do you do this???
As every answer in computing goes, "it depends". Specifically on the device you are using to run the mobile hotspot, whether or not it has those capabilities, etc. Most of them have either a management app or website that should show you the settings and options and, failing, that, a manual :)

If you set your network to open, you should check to see what the devices are that are connected to it, force people to use an email address and their name to use. Absolutely nothing would be preventing them from not using their real email address and name, but still. And make the default home page they get once they put in an email address jwfacts.
That way you're not hijacking DNS, you're simply setting a default homepage for people who choose to use your service when they click "I agree", kind of how like Marriott always takes you to their homepage first when you use the hotel Wifi.

That being said, i have the means, and resources, and manpower, to do some INCREDIBLE "things" in the computer world, and boy do i have BIG plans, my friends, BIG plans.
Yes, that's very "helpful", those "things".

Funny, somehow when I proposed this a while back, people did not respond so well. Some accused me of trying to hijack DNS
You proposed re-directing requests for jw.org to jwfacts.com. That IS hijacking DNS. Setting your SSID to JWFacts.com isn't the same thing at all.

Have you heard the one about "Back to the Future" Predicting 911??
by EndofMysteries inwhen somebody posted this on fb, i was anxious to see how ridiculous it would be, probably worse then the gb prophecies, etc.
after watching the clip, i honestly don't know what to believe.
at the very least it's very entertaining and interesting.

If there is anything to bible prophecy, keep an eye out on Israel
by EndofMysteries inwhat will be the end game whether in a few years, our lifetime, or hundreds + years from now.
bible prophecy did say israel / jews would be scattered then eventually brought back.
russell was declaring that and it was believed before being changed shortly before it happened.

Ah, I see our resident PMSer is here, right on schedule!
That misogynistic attempt to dismiss women has always struck me as coming from a man that was either to lazy or dumb to bother learning how to interact with women, either from fear or from deep seated insecurity around them, feelings of inadequacy, concerns about his manhood (size and/or performance are usually the most common there), perhaps a sneaking suspicion that most women are smarter than him, therefore the best course to be safe is derision.
This is often seen in men who are part of the "Going Their Own Way" movement, claim to be pick up artists or to have "taken the red pill".Somehow, they've reached the point in their life where they quantify a human by their genitals. It's very sad to see because, were it not for the deep seated fear and anger issues causing comments like the one above, they may well possibly find a good relationship with a woman. Of course, that's assuming they aren't non-heterosexual and using the misogyny as a cover to hide that.
