  atheists believe that god should stop the large-scale injustice on earth; if he does'nt, then he does not exist.

  jws believe that god will intervene sometime in the last days!.

  interestingly, both throw themselves on their own expectation of soemthing god should or will do, yet in fact something god does not have to do.

  Kate.. you say; "those that have the power to end suffering but don't are evil.

  You therefore don't believe the god you think exists can end suffering ,..otherwise he would be deemed evil? Or are you talking in terms of human intervention?

  Would you say your unique understanding of god is as a result of your feelings of abandonment by god(jehovah) which you once held.

  You subsequently did not see god as one of your loved ones..Was that a purposeful downgrading of the god jehovah whom you once worshiped?

  If so and I'm being presumptuous, perhaps it was as a form of punishment of god that you now see him the way you do because you feel he abandoned you when you needed his help.

  Certainly not the actions of a loving caring god.

  But also it has to be said the inaction because he does not exist, which is why unfortunately for mankind who experience disaster outwith our control there never can be supernatural intervention.

  Hi kate ...I do agree with most of your points re, more could be done by mankind to prevent and aid in the fight against suffering etc.

  There are however tragedies which befall mankind which we have no control over.

  The question which athiests ask re gods ability to intervene arises from the fact that theists claim there is such a being who could if he desires prevent these unforeseeable disasters.

  The fact that I don't believe such a being exists prompts questions such as I have posed.

  In the form of a discussion forum it is interesting to me the theists point of view, after all the people who are affected by suffering , torture, agony through no fault of their own may rightly wonder why the loving god they believe in has abandoned them to their fate.

  The question I asked you is imo is quite straightforward.

  Hi kate... thanks for the reply.

  You seem to see ' god 'as a being who is so preoccupied, that he is unaware of human tragedy / suffering.

  This idea of course flies in the face of most theists who regard god as all seeing all knowing to the point that he will know future events.

  What would be your opinion of this god (should he exist ) who indifferently with his foreknowledge and ability does zilch to prevent horrendous agony and suffering to his creations?

  Hi kate ,, woukd you not agree that indifference by a theistic god of whom cofty is referring ( the one who is deemed as loving and concerned for his creations )is entireky different from animals or so called imperfect humans.

  His indifference to such events which he is understood to have absolute control over is imo by his inaction displaying evil.

  there's a lot of talk right now about how stupid it is to have jws hand out leaflets with urls on them.

  "why go to someone's door to tell them they can visit a web site that lets them ask for someone to come to their door?

  Apog..I tgink people do think to access other sources for information.

  If you only have a biased magazine or book or even a person with a specific agenda to glean information from at your disposal mthen your point is relevent.

  Given the wealth of information and ease of usage I feel interested persons looking for answers or information on any given subject will peruse a variety of information at their immediate fingertips.

  Human curiosity will do as curious does imo.

  Officially parting ways : (

  some of you might remember my first post on here about my dilemma of whether or not to remain in a relationship with my jw girlfriend after learning ttatt http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/jw/experiences/278710/1/im-new-and-need-help#.u-kltpldvyq.

  while we were taking a break, well it turned out to be not very much of a break because of our still strong feeling for each other (we eventually went from talking every few weeks to once a week and then to everyday again) and things started to get complicated.

  well last night we officially decided that it would be best for the both of us to at least part ways for now and end things.

  Inside kh.....vast majority of people seeking information on any given subject will use many different sites, it's basically the reason d'etre of the internet.

  The fact that the borg directs people to its official ' web ' site will by default send more to other sites such as and not exclusively to those you mention.

  Human curiosity will prevail to prove to many the hypocrisy and falsehood of the gb( fds parable snatchers).

  Inadvertently using wordly inspired technology will stumble many jws and expose the wbts as the charlatans they are.

  What a person is GOING THROUGH...From a distance most people see very succesful global celebrities as having it all.

  Who would not wish even a fraction of their wealth, ability, creativeness and subsequent rewards.

  I for one would hope I could use it for the good of my family, but GOING THROUGH is the sting in the tail.

  Perhaps a lot of the fundemental elements of true happiness is sacrificed.

  Robin Williams appears to be another in a long list to succumb,
