Why I remain one of Jehovah's Witnesses
by Brother Jeramy inallow me to begin with a clarification: when i say i am one of jehovah's witnesses, i don't mean that i am an advocate of the watchtower society or a devotee of some of its more controversial false teachings.
i mean that i am a christian, a disciple of jesus christ dedicated to jehovah god, and who remains in union with my brothers and sisters who make up the family of faith that globally refers to itself as jehovah's witnesses.
some totally understand the distinction between the family of brothers and sisters and the corporate organization known as the watchtower society (wts).

Jeramy...you call them your brothers and sisters! See how brotherly they will be towards you if they knew your innermost thoughts about their beloved mother organization. It seems to me you remain associated to this religion in a clandestine form afraid to face up to the reality of being exposed . -

These jw writers are being thoroughly and knowingly deceptive. They quite obviously seek out these scientific articles read them thoroughly and cherry pick to bolster their belief with the sole purpose of controlling the reader by misguidance. Imo it is dishonest bordering on criminal , otherwise they would endeavour to expand the further content of the article from which they are quoting. There are of course many precedents of this watchtower tactic. -

do you feel these teachings are inspired and or beneficial to a productive life?
it seems to me that the actual words of jesus contain real wisdom and show how to live a fulfilling life.

" Actual words of jesus " ...is an erroneous and presumptuous statement. There is ZERO proof of anything jesus said , and dubious proof ' that ' jesus even existed. -

The org, it's money problems ans other stuff!
by username inhi there, although i have been a lurker here for a while now i've not yet posted a new topic, so here goes nothing lol.. i have been thinking a lot lately on all the changes and the branch visits, specifically the uk branch visit where apparently it has bean mentioned the great tribulation is about to start.. since i've not heard the full talk and only heard certain items from it i got to thinking that maybe this is the org's way of saying the watchtower is about to go down due to all the cover ups and the long list of discrepancies.. maybe i am way off the mark here, what does everone else think?.

One short New Testament verse sums up the problem with faith.

don't value the evidence of your own eyes or trust what you can measure and test; no, just have faith.. the frustration is that even when this is pointed out to the devout believer they still don't see the problem.
they still see faith as a virtue and something superior to 'sight'..

'Sight' may also be equated to having an understanding as in ' don't you see '. Those who don't wish to understand or seek education may fall back on the lazy excuse of blind faith ...very foolish!.
