Just found out this past Sunday that Moejojojo was a dear friend of mine that I hadn't seen in 4 years. She showed up at my door. I was delighted to find out that she had the same views and opinions that I have about the org. She told me her username and I told her mine. So I guess Moejojojo is the first person I have met from this board although I have known her for years. I just didn't know that she was a poster here until Sunday. She posted a thread a few days back about us. -Laylaluv |

Who Was The Very First Poster That You Met In Real Life?
by Englishman inthe first poster that i ever met was philo.. we'd traded a few stories via the site and i realised that we knew some of the same people down in portsmouth.. he was very cagey as to his real identity, but eventually we shared emails and he told me all about himself.
one day, i took hl down to portsmouth to see my daughter who lives there.
i'd mentioned it in a post, that i was going in that direction.

Knowing What You Know Now---Would YOU Try To Persuade a Potential JW?
by minimus in.
.....not to join, have a bible study, and learn more about the "truth" or would you not say anything, believing it's not your business?.

When I was leaving the org., I did persuade a person that had been studying off and on. We became great friends and she even said she was greatful that I told her to RESEARCH before she went any further. The last time a Witness called on her she told them that she wasn't interested anymore and to please not come to her home anymore. -

Hi Moejojojo!!! Guys it was really exiciting to see my lost beloved friend at my door on Sunday morning!!! I did a double take and couldn't believe it was her!!! I am still in shock!! Moejojojo has always been a dear friend to me and she helped me through some really tough times.
I was sooooo relieved that she shares the same viewpoints and opinions about the JWs and the org. as I do!!

this website is having an impact
by dothemath inhello.........this is a first for me- i've been reading some of your messages for some time now, and i must say you guys study your watchtower far better than i ever did.
i'm still a part of the congregation (and an elder), but i have to say i agree with many of your criticisms of the organization.
we've become just like the pharisees that jesus condemned............at our last assembly, the do and co warned against apostate material over and over again..........so i certainly think you're having a tremendous impact on their actions.

Dothemath,
Welcome to this site.
I am DF'd and shunned by my family. However, the Society's rule on shunning has backfired with me and I am sure many others. Mainly, because of the lack of love shown by the JW's and my JW family. I am resolved to never go back and to teach my kids to have a free mind. I teach them to research everything they have doubts about then come to their own conclusion. I also let them know I do not and will not always agree with their actions and decisions but, I will love them unconditionally.
Again, Welcome to the board.

Dog training -- need some ideas!
by cruzanheart innow, i know bassets are stubborn.
i also know they have selective hearing and can give the impression of being downright stupid at times.
ladybug, however, is really becoming a problem!

Cruzanheart,
Panda had some great ideas. Also, When I was training my boxer's (the one's to your left on my post) I kept treats in my pocket when I took them outside. When they went I praised them and gave them a treat. If they had an accident in the house I scolded them.

Just a little curious. I have noticed as I get older my sense of taste changes. I never liked tea when I was young but, now I do. I just discovered this the other day. Also, I never used to like cornbread. Now I love it in soups.
So let me hear it. Is it just me or does everyone experience these changes in taste?
