  First Visit to KH in 1 year - Observations...

  hey guys,.

  went to the kh for the first time in about a year.. i went in part because i have a couple of friends there (i'm not df or da).. good or bad, here were my observations.... 1) people were generally friendly, but it seems (and honestly) that most of the friendly ones were the ones considered "spiritually weak" by kh standards.

  2) it's pretty sad how much the "f and d slave" is actually worshiped.. it seemed that every other watchtower comment was geared toward praising, "jehovah's faithful slave., etc.

  Will,

  You are right. More than anything, it's amazing that I never seen it before.

  It seems that they have no faith in Jesus to motivate hearts.

  I was talking to an elder about how I never got a shepparding call.

  He said that, we'll it's hard to encourage someone when then don't go to the meetings.

  I told him that it was the responsibility of the sheppard to see the lost sheep. Not the other way around.

  Then he said, well I'm so busy (he's a pioneer). Then he says, I wish the Society (or whatever it's called today) had a position for a FULL TIME SHEPHARD. Someone who only sheppards the sheep.

  I didn't think of it quick enough, but I wanted to say, "what is stopping you???"

  Their worship is so structured.

  Were You Ever Put On Restrictions?

  as a jw, were you ever put on restrictions?

  how did you feel when you were told that a certain "privilege" was being taken from you?

  were you given any warning by the elders in charge that what you did merited a removal of some sort?

  Minimus,

  I think more than anything it was a power thing. So they could hold something over my head.

  Reborn, my favorite scripture (or one of them) is that Jesus doesn't judge by mear appearance to the eyes.

  Good or bad, here were my observations...

  1) People were generally friendly, but it seems (and honestly) that most of the friendly ones were the ones considered "spiritually weak" by KH standards.

  2) It's pretty sad how much the "F and D Slave" is actually worshiped.

  It seemed that every other Watchtower comment was geared toward praising, "Jehovah's FAITHFUL slave., etc." Also how great and wonderful these brothers are.

  3) After reading the techniques by C of Conscience, it's pretty neat how you could really see through the Watchtower.

  Reading "CLEARLY Jehovah is using his modern day visible organization."

  Before I would have said, "Of course. But now it's like, where do you get that from?"

  in fact, many of the bad experiences people have with jws are caused by actions that the society does not encourage.. .

  logan i have started a new thread simply because if a jw read your old one they may be happy enough not go back to reread this if it was posted there.. one of the things that kept me holding on to the jw faith was the thought that many of the bad experiences people have with jws are caused by actions the soceity does not encourage.

  More than anything, I hate it when people make issues under the guise of something else.

  Where does that reasoning stand? You're good enough to preach, but not good enough to clean a toilet???

  It doesn't stand up.

  The elders there had issues. I was a rare breed in the Hall where I was spiritual, a pioneer, my wife was a pioneer and I was successful in a "wordly" sense.

  I made good money, had a prety wife, was interviewed on t.v. all the time and was prominent in the community.

  Even when I struggled with things from time to time, I would do what Jesus said, "When you are fasting, wash your face and clean up your cloths so you struggle in secret." (just a paraphrase.)

  Instead, the ones that get jealous are the ones that Jesus said, "they disfigure their faces so that they appear to be struggling."

  So it boiled down to an issue of jealousy, under the guise of spirituality.

  They kicked me out and left them there to say.

  So I lied, (kind of) and told my RV's that I had to work.

  When I did, they left anyway.

  To me, it was almost like, "well what else."

  By that time, I was fed up anyway - so it wasn't a big deal.

  I was picked on for everything.

  Yeah, it really did happen.

  I got kicked out of a hall cleaning.

  The most bizarre thing about it is I brought with me 4 unbaptized people to help clean. They were my RV calls.

  A husband, wife and two kids came with me to help clean.

  So I was good enough to bring them there and to go out in field service, but not good enough to clean.

  I could read right through them though. They were upset because by that time I grew my hair out long.
