It's very sad, as it is with anyone who is killed in these circumstances. I hope the JW's don't exploit this, although I can only imagine the infomercial that will be called a funeral..Good point, if any of us died on our way to an "apostfest" how much compassion... would we be shown? But when your vision of god is the ultimate destroyer...

The Borg has always been a high controll outfit, sure they may say "it's a conscience matter" to the "outside" world, but within the borg it wont give up it's iron grip so easily. Kinda reminds me of old Henry Ford... You can have a model T in any color you want, as long as it's black.

See this organization is not in anyway theocratic...it's a dictatorship. When Teddy has breathed his last things will change and evolve with the passage of time, just look at their history...Eventually the blood issue maybe less of a focal point. Remember if God really was running the show there would not be changes and revisions.. The New Light doctrine is just a cover up for their screw-ups.

JW at my door this weekend
by Dawn inmy neighborhood gets worked about 1 or 2 times a year - and since i have been out a long time, and moved from another city, the jw's here do not know that i used to be one.. so - this poor unsuspecting man stopped on my doorstep saturday morning to share a scripture with me about the "last days" that we are living it.
i took the opportunity to point out that his organization has predicted armageddon more than once and it did not happen (of course - slipping in deut 18 about the false prophet .
he started to try and explain the whole 1975 fiasco when i stopped him and said that i was referring to their claim that armageddon would come before the generation of 1914 had passed away.. would you believe - he sat there on my doorstep and lied to my face telling me that the jw's never taught that armageddon would come before the generation of 1914 passed away .

The Watchtowers Honesty with the "flock' has never been a strong point so why expect anything more when it comes down to door to door work. The bad thing is, new recruits buy into this garbage and so the myth begins... FORTUNATELY people can now check out for themselves on line, what the Borg has published and see for themselves what a bunch of bait and switch artists the WT really is.

as most of us know, it was the guardian newspaper that printed the leak of the wts being registered as an ngo of the un.
then after the leak the paper printed a scathing editiorial on the wts being hypocrits.. well, on the official wts site the article "is it unscientific to believe in god" quotes the guardian newspaper:understandably, in countries where a more secular spirit prevails, such as those in europe, the ratio is lower.

"College, oh no!" PT 1-New guy here
by theundecided2004 inhello everyone, i have been keeping up with posts on this board for about four years now, been a member for about one year but have never had the courage to make my first post.
so now i'm going to make that first step to get rid of that fear i had of betraying myself, and vent my experiences and frustrations with this faith.
i think this board will be a good way for me to make acquaintances of people with similar feelings that i have regarding the jehovah's witnesses, as well as a good outlet for my frustrations as a jw, and get some advice as to maybe getting a reasonable exit strategy in the near future.

Welcome, I registered here and then lurked for a while, but then I decided to start posting and it is great . It really helps me to "vent"some of my pent up feeling. I think you'll find lots of us had similar experiences to you. One of the great things about being here is that there alwas somebody who's been in a similar situation and lots of good folks with excellent advice. Keep your posts coming.
