  Not enough money to support more. If anything, they won't add anymore even if one of them dies. More money to go around and hey.... this could be a sign the end is imminent.

  2017 Sunday RC Final Talk & Comments About 1975

  many of us here have commented on the deceitful friday afternoon video shown at the 2017 rc that discussed 1975.. the video attempted to shift the blame onto congregation members for the fiasco saying, "some were looking to a certain date as signifying the end of this old system of things.".

  this same video mentions how, “a few even went so far as selling their homes and quitting their jobs.”.

  we all know that the wt leadership created this teaching and endorsed it right up to its abject failure.. now below is the concluding talk given on sunday at the rc.

  Not sure I can make a trip specifically for it but I do visit the area sometimes and will be doing so more in the near future. Me and at least one other member of this forum are in the RGV area (near McAllen). Would be nice to meet up.

  An update on me and a public apology

  i have been gone for a while so i am back, but i don't know how often i am hanging around.

  i am more interested in apologizing though :).

  i have posted several times in the past about the necessity of spreading the word about ttatt in the spanish speaking world.

  I have been gone for a while so I am back, but I don't know how often I am hanging around. I am more interested in apologizing though :)

  I have posted several times in the past about the necessity of spreading the word about TTATT in the Spanish speaking world. Specially of the quality of jwfacts. After some ranting, I was given the opportunity to be part of something like that. I was invited to help in translating some of the articles into Spanish which I thought was a great way to channel this desire to help. Unfortunately for me, I now run the potential of looking like a total hypocrite.

  Soon after that proposal my life began changing quite rapidly. I had a terrific opportunity at work and I took it but is not without challenges. Lots of work and potentially travel are coming my way. I also began to see change in my wife's attitude. I have heard her say things I never thought possible (and to be honest I think she is surprising herself too). I am just as surprised to the things she is not saying as well. Example... Assembly is coming up this weekend and she has not mentioned it at all (ok, I am not holding my breath on that one) but that's is not only thing. I really feel like she is closer than ever to finally give up on all this crap.

  So, in summary, I need to dedicate some time to my family and work in what seems a paradigm shifting in my life. I can not waste this opportunity to help them. So I hereby apologize for looking like a hypocrite. I will be back once things settle and I still plan to offer my help.

  I will still be here, in the shadows.

  I think we should make more clear whether we are comparing religions relative to one another or in an absolute.

  If we are going "relative", then certainly, it is somewhat inaccurate to compare ISIS and other Christians like the JWs and bag them all under extremism.

  If we are going "absolute", then we have already made the case here before that even if you don't die because of the JW doctrines, you still ran the chance of having a very traumatizing experience. Some would argue that it would be better to die

  With that said, and if we concentrate on the JWs alone, people do die because of the doctrines. May be they don't kill innocent bystanders but people still die because of religious beliefs. Saying that JWs are not extreem just because ISIS is more violent, is simply putting a bar on something that should not exist whatsoever. Very much like Dr Applewhite tried to make the case that the JWs were not as bad as the Catholics when it came to child abuse. Not a good excuse. Judge McLean made it very clear. It is not a competition.

  about 10 years ago i came here years ago looking for some understanding.. my wife was getting baptized, and i was starting to realize that the jw was no mere religion.. fear led to anger, and anger led to panicked and rushed reactions.

  i called them a cult.. with time the people here helped me to understand my situation.

  i read steve hassan and worked tirelessly to apply his principles.
