People have already been making prophetic comments about this picture in pro-JW facebook pages. You bet they will be doing even worst with the UN

Pope praises the Wild Beast (UN)
by Quarterback inthe pope stated at his un address that, "if it wasn't for the un's work on the world's conflicts, the world would be alot worse".
i just wonder how that statement will be taken in jw land.

As I expressed in other threads, this could be a scare tactic. We know they have tried to communicate before that there is a concern that people misunderstood the way the KH fund would work.
Or it could all have been a facade to make people think that the fund was really being setup for construction when they never meant to change anything. Bring more money, don't spend it.

This is how you turn a book company into a real state company. Remember the number of book stores that went belly up when the kindle became popular? Adapt or die, that is the law of business. -

Latest rumor - all WT construction "suspended", except for Warwick
by sir82 inheard 4th-hand, but from a full-on believer, so not likely to be an "apostate lie":.
apparently, at bethel's morning worship this morning, it was announced that all worldwide wts construction is "suspended" for an indefinite time, except for the new world headquarters at warwick.. also, the "relocation" of remote translating teams is also suspended.. finally, there will be a "worldwide" reduction in bethel personnel.. all this came to me in a non-english language, and,as noted, 4th-hand.
so it is possible something may have been lost in translation and/or in the multiple steps between bethel morning worship & me.. but if true, it would be quite stunning.

May be they are anticipating the cost of the Australian fiasco.'
May be is a move to make everyone think the GB knows something they don't and once the fear sets in and the donations begin to pick up again, everything would go back to normal.

Yes. Sure the idea could have been BUILD BUILD BUILD to sell, but they also have to get money in order to build. Even with free labor, it is still a long term investment. If it is truly as the GB put it in the broadcast.. the brothers may feel that no donations are necessary due to the new arrangement. May be the strategy isn't playing out the way they thought. -

A very firm statement was made at the 2014 RC (International). The speaker stated...
"The mormon church has stated that the new field of preaching to reach more people is social media. JWs understand that when an emergency arises (Armageddon) the authorities go door to door making sure every single citizen gets a chance to leave. JWs will NEVER... EVER, replace our door to door ministry. Much less with social media"
We know these guys have a fame for eating their own foot.

What is the most bizarre counsel you received as a JW, from a JW?
by Funchback inthere were many addressed to me.
for example, i once had a sister tell me i was gambling because i liked playing skill crane (the machine where you have to try to pick up prizes like stuffed animals) at the arcade.
i then fired back a her: "you saw the r-rated movie 'backdraft.

I think sister had her info mixed up. I read that somewhere in the 70's that was supposed to be a sign you were a swinger. Nowadays they are sold at any kind of jewelry store. This was a gift I gave my wife and she wore it for quite a few years. Until sister came about and saw it. She has not worn it since. I did the research in the WT library and I could only find two references. One said that they were worn by Jewish women with bells on them. Jewish women were supposed to walk in a way that kept the bells from making noise. In this way, they were being careful not to call too much attention with their walking style. It was a way to keep women from being noticed. If the bell made the noise, well, then you as a woman were not being careful and I am assuming any man could scold you for it. The other reference mentioned the collection of war spoil being brought to Jehovah as an offering and it specifically mentions anklet bracelets.
My conclusion is that if anything, it was an archaic way to have women show modesty in their path (not that I agree but if I may put it in contrast with the comment from sister) and not the contrary. I read somewhere else that the custom could have been used with the opposite purpose. In other words, if a woman walked by you making noise, then you knew you could follow her to the fun. At the same time, if you are a believer, I doubt you would accept that God allowed the adorn of a prostitute to be offered to him. To be honest, I have to count the number of men that approached my wife for sexual services due to the anklet.... 0

I will summarize counsel given to me as well as my wife.
- You need to look up information about this piece of jewelry (Anklet I gave to my wife), it used to be the adorn of prostitutes in biblical times. (holier than thou pioneer sister talking to my wife before FS)
- How was FS today? (holier than thou elder seriously asking me a Saturday afternoon when I showed up to fix his computer. I had clearly not shaved that day)
- Brother elder wants you to know that you can use your iPad to read your MS outline but not to read the bible. The bible should be read from the book to avoid stumbling newcomers. (MS overseer advice, two weeks after GB member Jackson gave a number of talks at our International Convention in Houston. Using nothing but an iPad)
- Only exemplary Christians can have the privileges, like handling the mic or managing the parking duties at assemblies. Can anyone tell me how to we know an exemplary Christian? -Brother1: A brother that clearly conducts his life on bible principles. Elder: That is ok but, is there another answer? Brother2: Someone who clearly underlines the magazine every week. Elder: Exactly!! (publisher meeting prior to an assembly)
