Garage Sales! Yes! There was a sister at our last hall who was known for that. She would even have parts on the Service Meeting. Others in my old halls thought that was deplorable.

Creative ways of counting field service time
by 4thgen inthere was a sister in my congregation that signed up to aux pioneer one month to put in 60 hours.
we couldn't figure out why she was never at the arrangements, but yet she said she got in her time early in the month.
we found out later that we wrote a letter that took her an hour.

Just Kidding, yep you reminded me of that....I saw the golfing thing before. As a matter of fact, one of the brothers who were counting time, got beaned in the head while on the golf cart. It was a congregation joke for a long time. (Maybe he should have had his head examined!)

Some hearty pioneers used to arrange an annual fishing trip into the wilderness. They ALWAYS brought a Bible study with them to count their time, while they were on the lake drinking beer.
The sisters used a different approach. Theirs involved going to the mall.

We couldn't figure out why she was never at the arrangements, but yet she said she got in her time early in the month. We found out later that we wrote a letter that took her an hour. Then she photocopied it 60 times and turned in 60 hours. The elders found out and counseled her. They then called a pioneer meeting to clarify that we should NOT do that. DANG!
What goofy stuff have you seen in counting time?

The have to lax up a bit. People have been counting time in goofy ways for years now. After all, they have to keep their numbers up for their tax exempt status. The Jdubs, wil all say it's such a loving provision. Just like the 30 hour aux pioneering hours....After all it's just to keep their tax exempt. It's always about the money.

2014 District Convention Releases
by 4thgen inso what do you think will be the new releases this year?
it seems from everything that has been happening that there will be a new and revised reasoning book to embrase all the new 'adjustments'.
also, the proclaimers book has to revamped to take out all the things that honor russell or rutherford, after all they weren't annointed anyway.

Hello! So what do you think will be the new releases this year? It seems from everything that has been happening that there will be a new and revised Reasoning Book to embrase all the new 'adjustments'. Also, the Proclaimers book has to revamped to take out all the things that honor Russell or Rutherford, after all they weren't annointed anyway. Or are they now included in the overlapping frippery????...I forget...it's so silly.
What do you think?

Is this new donation arrangement for real?
by nugget injust read a post on jwsurvey about the new donation arrangement.
congregations are to pledge a monthly amount to be sent to the society to fund the building of assembly halls and kingdom halls.
congregations who already have a loan from the society will no longer have to pay back the loan but the amount pledged should not be less than the current monthly repayments to the society.
