Yesturday, I was talking to a friend and she said that in order to get a degree from a local college, they require a completed a public speaking course. I said that was no problem, because I had been in a public speaking school for 40 years. She looked at me like I had three heads. I said that I was in a Theocratic Ministry school for over 40 years and never graduated. As I was explaining it, she started to laugh. Then I laughed too, when I realized how stupid it all sounded. What are your experiences in trying to explain the silliness of a certain JW activity?

Label Licker: I did a similar thing, but I didn't put in my own references. I got a letter back that basically said the same thing 'So what....we don't care'" They only hear what they want to hear.
What do you think he meant: "He also said the elders would not be able to say what they really want to say if they knew they were being recorded?
WatchtowerFree : Loved your secrecy items. So true!
Joe134CD- There would probably be a 'cease and deist’ letter from the WT if they went public with the audio. The elders were not consented regarding the taping. However, he could put it up for a while, until the letter came…J

Scripture supports the decrease in growth rate and the dumbing down of WT message
by never a jw ini couldn't stay away from jwn, nor could i stay away from my favorite elder.. my email to my favorite elder:.
since the wt org.
is tightening its grip on the membership at the same time it is running the organization like a business (flipping real estate, downsizing and promoting a brand name, an idol and a flag such as jw.org), i feel that membership numbers are going to be affected; my bet is downward.

"We're calling on your neighbours to promote a website"
by Simon inwow, it's true - they don't call to 'promote god's kingdom' anymore but just their website!.
we just had an old lady call and tell us that was exactly what they were doing and it has "lots of good things on their for children".
yeah, right ... sparlock?.

I found a tract in my door and then a couple of days later a sister visited me.
"Oh did you see the new tract, it's so wonderful?"
"You mean the one about JW.org?"
"Yes, we're directing everyone to the website."
"I thought Jesus directed everyone to the Bible and God's Kingdom. What happened to that?"
She did a double take on that. I could see her confusion. Then she made an excuse and left. Probably won't be seeing her for a while. :)

by Absalom into be holy, we must weigh the scriptures carefully and do what god asks of us.

Hi DD- I agree. Duh! Funny how the internet went from the 'thing of the Devil' to "God's channel" in a few short years.
Hello Apognophos, I agree the journalist didn't appear too seasoned. They did get a great picture of JW.org...Could they get the sign any bigger????? I just noticed that they chose the logo to be blue, signifying of trust, honesty and loyalty. UGH!

Read rare, historic letters about the draft from WT attorney, Hayden Covington, written to a young JW man.
by AndersonsInfo infor those who are interested in this subject, especially researchers and historians, i posted on my website extremely rare material dealing with one man's struggle to avoid being drafted into the us military for religious reasons.. this is a huge downloadable collection of correspondence between richard rawe, his draft board and government officials after he was ordered to report for military duty.
richard saved every letter and even the envelopes from the time he was called up for military duty when he was 18 in 1952 until 1960 when he was 26 and too old to be drafted.. what makes this collection unique and special is that there are many, many important private letters from watchtower attorney, hayden covington to richard containing instructions and advice.
this is historical material that allows us to peer into the legal mind of covington with regards to the draft situation during that time period.
