I have published a new article on Bulgaria and the change to blood transfusion disfellowshipping policy during the 1990's. It outlines what appears to have been perjury by the Watchtower Society, and also is another example of political involvement. It is at http://jwfacts.com/watchtower/bulgaria-blood-transfusions.php

It was quite difficult collating all the information so please let me know of any inconsistencies or errors.

''there certainly can be no doubt that it is [a] direct lie that Witnesses do not face "controls or sanctions" if they have blood.''

I wonder what the European Court of Human Rights would think of this article.

Thanks for the comments, and TC for spotting the missing word.

I spotted one typo. The word "let" should have been "led".

"We have already seen that the terms of the agreement let to a doctrinal changed to allow Witnesses the right to engage in civilian military service."

Very good material. I was previously unaware that the civil-service change was prompted by the Bulgaria decision.

Does anyone know if responsible parties in the Bulgarian government were ever apprised of the duplicity in the WT's blood transfusion directives?
