I am curious, how many of you were LURKERS on JWD before joining in the party? Im not sure if there is anyway to know how many people at any given time are just reading the posts and not posting, versus active members. I am going to do a pseudo-scientific analysis based on responses to the following questions:

    1) Did you first come to JWD as an active witness, then after reading the posts, started questioning the JWs and joined in the conversations? If so, how long did this process take (from lurker to participant?)

    2) Did you first come to JWD as a non-active, or DFd or faded witness, liked what you were reading and decided to become a poster? If so, how long did the jump from lurker to poster take?

I found this website by doing a google search for " 1935 anointed" as I wanted more information on why there were so many anointed in their 50s. So among all the google searches I clicked on this one http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/6/97270/1.ashx

I think I lurked for a day and a half. I was then inactive JW...now DA

    I was active

and lurked for a long time. Found out about COC, ordered it, read it, and stopped going to meetings.

Brain washing, and all the attitude of all the gossip, guilt, I was burned out. NO MORE.

    2) Had been DFed about 9 years (faded 6 years before that). Came here from Freeminds, lurked about a day and a half. Felt shy but liked what I saw.

if memory serves correctly, for me it was the day after I had been accused of posting lewd things on the internet. I knew I had to meet with a Judicial committee and I was looking for things I could say etc.

Joined that day and haven't looked back since.

I had stopped going to meetings before I posted, couldnt stomach it after what Id found out and I read CoC pretty soon after reading about it here
