Simple. I want more. Got a problem with that?? I was a JW elder too - and some serious shit is going down right now that you ought to be helping with. You doing anything about that? Sometimes making a difference requires more than anonymous posts on JWD. Have you written the paper? Probably not. Give it a try. I'd appreciate it.

IMHO, posting redundant threads within the span of a single day is not going to acheive anything besides make it a little more difficult for fellow posters to find previous topics.

I wouldn't get too excited. Sunday is a slow night on JWD (second after Friday night).

I thought they did a good job bringing out the Poisson case. They could have posted the Silentlambs website.

There are so many issues that could be chosen and I doubt they would all fit in an e-mail.

Also, not everyone is as quick to put word to "paper" and e-mail.

I think by Monday there will be more response. Have you posted on some of the other ex-JW boards?

Quite a few of us don't boast or report our activism. For us, it works better that way.

I read the article and I feel that it is quite balanced.

The writer didn't go out of his way to praise witnesses but he didn't bash them either. It was presented as it should be presented. The focus on the article was on a quick build, not on any other issue.

Now if you so strongly disagree with the tone or material of the article and feel that you must prove a point feel free to go to the quick build site and PROTEST or picket the place. That should get some media outlet's attention too.

I put in my two cents worth on the website, but honestly seeker, do you really think it was necessary to freaking act so pissy about it? I can easily tell now that you must have been an elder: flogging and shaming people into action! Your "sheep" must have hated your guts, I know I would have!

What are the common complaints about JW's? Telling their brothers what they should do, saying things like "you ought." Saying "Do more." Wanting control. Do you think these tendencies exist in many ex-JW's too? This is the first I've seen of this post, but I wouldn't help you with shit with the attitude you're giving us. I live my own life, I appreciate your concern (or selfish interests), but I can and will determine how I lead my life myself. Calm down and back off. What I have or have not done WILL NOT be a subject of your speculations sir.

Great to hear from you. Always love your posts. Too bad this is such a slow night. My concern is that, as usual with papers and their websites, this one will be replaced tomorrow.

Don't get too wired about this - just getting a little "out there" and trying to raise some interest on what is obviously a slow night. I've been posting here and on the old H2O for longer than most of you have been involved with these sites, so I'm not exactly a neophyte here.

And Soledad, I've actually been at the quick build site everyday, not to protest, but taking photos for a totally neutral article on the quick build for my own paper. I'm not exactly a raving anti-JW. Don't be too quick to judge me on this - you might want to check out a few of my other topics here on this site and the old H2O. And I really disagree with you - the focus of the article was in no way totally focused on the quick build. You might want to read it again. The focus was on JWs overall and was only marginally dealing with the quick build. I was involved with the writing of this article for the past several weeks, and am quite aware of what it was about.

I do agree that it was presented as it should have been - that's not exactly my point. And I already said I used to be an elder - it didn't take any great insight to figure that out!! Come on! And you have no idea how the friends in the congregation where I served felt about me. In fact, you know nothing about me, and it's silly and arrogant of you to assume you do. You'd have probably loved me, as I was as far from being a shaming or flogging elder as you can find. In fact, that's partly why I'm so passionate about this article - it will be read be dozens of people that I really care for, family members, people that I studied with, people I taught for years, and perhaps convinced to remain JWs. There may be a few deeper reasons why I'm interested in getting some response to this article, and not just because I'm pissy. A little more respect there would be appreciated, and I apologize for any lack of respect on my part.

Thank you all for responding to the site and these posts, and my apologies for my passion. One quick question. What the hell does &nbsp mean??!! Sorry for my ignorance.
