I don't think its healthy either!!!

I have terrible bad dreams about them where I wake up screaming. And at this time of the year (spring in Australia) I am to scared to spend long periods outside in case a bird swoops me. It terrifies me so much. Especially magpies and plovers. They are horrible.

The older I get the more I want to get over this phobia but the worse it becomes...

That's really awful, MissPeaches. My husband has a phobia about dead birds. Guess who gets the job of bird undertaker.

When did your fear of birds begin? My sisters fear began a few years ago when she was like nine. I guess its a good thing I never made her watch the movie "birds" hu? She also hates being surrounded by alot of people, thats why we can't really go to the mall on the weekends. Do you have any fears like these?

Oh my goodness Cellist you just reminded me of a story!!!

Quite some years ago I was sharing a house with a pioneer sister in her 60's who was recently widowed. She was hopeless at anything let me assure.

Well one day I was in the loungeroom and heard all this squawking outside. I ventured out and saw that a magpie had some fishing line on its leg and managed to get itself tangled up on our rooftop aerial. Well a couple of other birds (can't remember what type) were attacking it. It was completely vicious and upsetting. The magpie was killed by these two birds and now dangling dead from our aerial.

Despite being compeltely scared by what had taken place I still felt really sad for the bird. Especially because its mate was sitting on the roof literally crying about it.

Well now what were to do with the dead bird? I was too scared to go up and get it especially with another living distressed bird up there as well. The pioneer wouldn't she was a lost cause. So an elder in his 80's who lived 4 doors up got his ladder out and climbed up on the roof to get the poor thing down. I felt so silly that I was too scared to go up there when this frail old man did instead!

That is just wrong!!!!! Why is it that people don't seem to care about their jobs?

Right? Then these same people will bitch and moan when they don't have a job, blaming "the economy" when it's really THEM! Bad attitudes all around

work at an auto insurance company brokers office

    No wonder you're bored!

    just kidding

hmm when did my fear begin...?

Well its a little hard to say. I was always bothered by things flying around my face like moths for example and wary of anything with wings pretty much! But then when I was about 16 I was attacked by a magpie and that was it... full blown phobia. I haven't watched 'the birds' either! Not game!!!

Funnily enough I hate being surrounded by heaps of people as well. Especially when they are wandering aimlessly. I get really agitated. I wouldn't say that I am scared of crowds but I really get distressed when surrounded by people who don't seem to walk in a straight line or stuff like that. Conventions/assemblies were always horrible for that reason. People just milling around. I hated them.
