Actually there are so many versions of Jehovah -

I don't have the hebrew pronunciation with me but you get Jehovah-healer, Jehovah-protector, Jehovah-provider - These are his name s.

A JW will of course say his name is Jehovah - but don't look at their bible - they place it in the wrong places - after all they couldn't really understand the greek & hebrew themselves. Go to a Hebrew bible, it's a schlep but you'll see for yourself then.

Not possible, badboy. There is no "J" sound in the hebrew language.

Jesus upheld Gods NAME. It was VERY important to him. He was representing that name. John the 17th ch, Jesus prayed to his heavenly Father about his name. He said he made His NAME know and will continue to do so. Jesus even taught His followers to PRAY for the Sanctification of Gods name. Jehovah.

Is it possible, defd, that Jesus was talking about his Father's reputation?

Is there a single instance of Jesus uttering the word "Jehovah" out loud?

    the Knowledge book says:

    ***

kl chap. 3 pp. 26-27 Who Is the True God? ***

    11

Stubborn Pharaoh and his army, with its 600 war chariots, set out to recapture his slaves. As the Egyptians drew near, God miraculously divided the Red Sea so that the Israelites could cross on dry land. When the pursuers entered the seabed, Jehovah "kept taking wheels off their chariots so that they were driving them with difficulty." The Egyptian warriors cried: "Let us flee from any contact with Israel, because Jehovah certainly fights for them against the Egyptians." But it was too late. The vast walls of water crashed down and "covered the war chariots and the cavalrymen belonging to all of Pharaoh’s military forces." (Exodus 14:22-25, 28) Jehovah thus made a great name for himself, and that event has not been forgotten to this day.—Joshua 2:9-11.

The name that God has made for himself has great meaning for us today. His name, Jehovah, stands as a guarantee that all he has purposed he will cause to come true.

So is the "name that God has made for himself" referring to reputation or pronunciation?

Is there a single instance of Jesus ;uttering the word ;"Jehovah" out loud?

Why i am glad you asked. Yes there is. When he was being tempted by the devil, just for starters.

Besides, common sense would tell us if Jesus SAID he made his name KNOWN and told us to pray for the sanctification of it, For us to do that would we not HAVE to KNOW His name? Come on think man!

OK, I checked, and the original greek is Theos, not YHWH. I imagine the JW's have retranslated assuming Jesus would have quoted Deuteronomy in Hebrew.

BTW, I am woman, therefore I think.
