I dont understand how god can be omnipotent, and all knowing, but that doesnt apply to knowing the future? God is not human. He had the power to create us. Supposedly there is no limit to the power he has, and he knows everything. How did he not know that adam and eve would sin if they were given the choice? If god did not know this, then he is not all knowing, and he cant be omniopotent. Any thoughts?
Is god all knowing?

The WTBTS take on this is that....Jehovah knows everything, but doesn't ALLOW himself to see the future in detail because this would promote pre-destination. They feel god COULD know the outcome....but doesn't allow himself to do so.

So we are just an experiment to see what happens. Loving god lets all these people suffer for his own enjoyment. Nice guy.

Its kind of like letting someone starve to death by just giving him a little food once in a while. Never actually let them die just keep them on the edge and stand there watching as they hang on the brink of death. I think Hitler tortured people in this manner. Good to know Hitler and god are on the same level.

The way I was taught was that God is outside of our time, so He can see what's going to happen down the ages like an aerial view of a carnival parade, but He doesn't make things happen (that was to get around the free will v. predestination argument).
I'm not sure if I buy this though cos wouldn't that mean that He fits His plans into ours rather than the other way round?

gringoji,
You may have noticed that there is thread after thread regarding the actions or inaction's of an archaic, tribal deity many assume is our Source; and none of these discussions really get anywhere because they attribute an infinite universe to a nonsensical, finite entity. Could it be that there is no separate god out-there that lets us suffer, other than the one we have engraved within our mind?
Rather than seek God through some determinate object formed by the mind's ideas and beliefs, we may find it more rewarding to be more silently present -- whenever possible -- with the vibrancy of life in and around us; and see what can be discovered here.
As far as God being all-knowing or omniscient, these attributes - which at first may seem honorable - actually reduce and limit God to something that can be defined and circumscribed. Perhaps God is the Infinity which all flows from and exists in, and there is no knowing. Perhaps, to even God, it is all an endless and wondrous mystery.

I swear one day I'm going to just sit and read James Thomas' posts from start to finish.
