Yes, only it was more than 25 yrs. and the disintigration was rapid.
In my case it involved more than just the wbts-elders-shunning.
I believe that many jw lives explode due to more than just the evil religion. But that the cult exacerbates and gives the destroyer a feeling of cooperation and acceptance from others who are equally evil in their behaviour.
Then we "the survivor" will need help in rebuilding our lives. It can be done, as you will find from this forum.
Seeking help from "worldly" counselors and doctors are very helpful.
Building friendships with these "worldly people" you will find to be most helpful.
You can and will survive and come to know that you are"" loveable and loved by others.""
Many of us on this forum have fought the same battle you face and we all survived and for many if not all, their time after leaving the cult, becomes the happiest most rewarding times in their lives.
Put your fears and griefs and sadness in print here if you feel the need and you will get all the help we can give. Above all DO NOT GIVE UP!!

Welcome Sorry to hear about your pain. It will get better.
But I feel like I have been broken, and I'm not sure if I can fix it. Everything I touch I screw up.
We know thats not true, you posted here didn't you? That is a wonderful first step. It helps to talk about your worries, to get them off your chest and into the open. Please continue posting and update us on your situation and you will get the help and support you need to make it through this tuff time for you.
There are so many dreams yet to be fulfilled, but getting past the lonliness and sadness is hard.
Always remember that the fulfillment of one dream is worth a thousand risks. The failure of not taking one risk is the death of a thousand dreams.
