    bebu,

*sigh* I'm so sorry to hear about your son. I hope his appointment with the neuro goes well. Please come back and update us on the condition. When I was 12 or so, I saw my baby brother have a grand mal. To this day, it's one of the most terrifying experiences of my life. I was the one who found him and all I could do was scream. I couldn't talk, cry, nothing. Just scream. The seizure lasted for around 5 minutes, but it felt like hours. He had a fairly severe kidney infection, high fever, etc. but pulled out of it just fine. Today my baby brother is a huge, healthy, strapping, smart-alleck 23 year old - college grad, married and pioneering. I love that little twerp!

    Big Tex,

You are not NEAR old enough to be my father, but your words are so comforting to me in so many levels. THANK YOU for that and so much more.

    Love to you,

    Andi

Bebu, I don't know what to say, except that I'm (we) are so very sorry this happened to your son.

We will pray for him, as we prayed when your Mom had her difficulties, too.

Please let us know what the neurologist says about your son.

    Hugs to all ((((((())))))).

    p.s. How's your Mom doing?

Thanks for all the encouraging words.

LOL, hubert, pray for me!!! Right now, my son is driving me crazy, as he isn't supposed to go to school until he sees the neurosurgeon. (Hey, you're a jedi now! Congrats!! )

He's not so little any more, Tex and Andi-- he's in high school, and nearly a 'strapping' 6 feet tall! And getting bigger. His normal state is to revel in battling with me over homework. He also reminds me a little of that Teenage Brian doll that TresHappy gave a link to (my son thankfully isn't so bad as that! He laughed at that doll, too!).

Epilepsy is a word that hasn't been spoken yet; we'll wait for the doc to say it. I don't know if even then it will make much sense to our son. Since he doesn't know anything about what happened (can't remember anything at all and we certainly didn't videotape it), he just shrugs it all off, and figures it is no big deal. But it was a pretty strong seizure, and if our son could have somehow seen what he was doing he'd certainly have a different point of view. Yet we'll wait for the doctor to help explain things...

Our son has "primary generalized epilepsy" according to the neurosurgeon. No surprise here; just waited for it to be made official.

He's taking it very well, actually. Not sulking or bitter or angry. Cooperative about what it means for him medically, and didn't raise a stink when he was told he couldn't go swimming alone ("I don't do that anyway"), and stay off of roofs and other unsafe high places ("no problem"), or any other situation that could jeopardize him if he were to have a seizure right there.

I think he is feeling a bit safer about sharing this information with his friends. The guys are good kids. I told him to reflect as to whether if any of them were to have this problem, what it would mean to him and the relationship if they confided in him about it. Would he appreciate it? Some of they guys have been dealt some situations no one could ever have asked for (health and family problems), so I think they can relate to unwanted trouble.

He was itching to get out of the dr's office in order to go to a birthday party and then a dance.

Thanks for the good wishes, everyone.

    I've been waiting for you.

    Thanks for the update, Bebu.

Is he on medications? Will that help him not to have as many seizures?

It's good to hear that it hasn't affected his attitude.

    Hubert
