COMF,
I LOVE Loreena McKennitt, especially "All Souls Night"...that would be something to hear over the sound system, eh??
How about Sarah McLachlan's "I Will Remember You"? Very beautiful song and it makes me think about the friends I've lost but still remember....
Dana
"I undid his head collar and took him outside for a drink, and felt, if not exactly a communion with him, at least an awareness of being a fellow creature on a lonely planet."
Dick Francis in "To The Hilt"
How about the ominous classic "Witch Hunt" by Rush? Although not directly relating to religion, the lyrics strangely enough remind of an elder body forming a judicial committee and JW mentality in general:
Witch Hunt
----- ----
The night is black,
Without a moon.
The air is thick and still.
The vigilantes gather on
The lonely torchlit hill.
Features distorted in the flickering light,
The faces are twisted and grotesque.
Silent and stern in the sweltering night,
The mob moves like demons possesed.
Quiet in conscience, calm in their right,
Confident their ways are best.
The righteous rise
With burning eyes
Of hatred and ill-will.
Madmen fed on fear and lies
To beat and burn and kill.
They say there are strangers who threaten us,
In our immigrants and infidels.
They say there is strangeness, too dangerous
In our theatres and bookstore shelves,
That those who know what's best for us
Must rise and save us from ourselves.
Quick to judge,
Quick to anger,
Slow to understand
Ignorance and prejudice
And fear
Walk hand in hand.
"Can't Get No Satisfaction" Rolling Stones

Ozzie
