Ok, very interested to know, for those of you that still have a faith, and it seems many do. What do you refer to God as? Is Jehovah correct, is it not, is it too associated with JWs for you to carry on doing that? Do many of you still pray, I think this is hilarious, because the first time in about 3 years I've considered prayer and it's as a result of 'apostate' thinking!! First time in years I've thought God might be worth knowing...Also a ps, for those of you that read the bible still, is there a good translation? Simple, but accurate?

    Gods name is NOT "Jehovah":

Jesus showed everyone how to pray, and what to call God:

Our Father who art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. 10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, On earth as it is in heaven. 11 Give us this day our daily bread; 12 And forgive us our debts, As we also have forgiven our debtors; 13 And lead us not into temptation, But deliver us from evil.

I can't say I know what to call God these days, or even if I want to talk to God anyhow. Not sure where I stand at the moment. It's all too raw right now having just left 2 months ago.
As for a good Bible translation, I use an 8-in-1 which I got at the local Bible Society. It's a good reference tool.

I am a person of Faith, but I don't feel it's respectful to call God by name , whatever you think that may be. To me it's like calling your Dad by his first name. Personally, I use "Father", "Lord" and "God". But that's just my take on it. As far as Bible translations, I really like the New International Version and also use the New King James Version. The NIV is especially easy to understand.

Poppy, I applaud your desire to know what is "worth knowing"; however, if you are truly interested in knowing your Source, why choose the archaic tribal deity presented within the pages of the Bible?

Have you not felt and acknowledged the endless sense of life in and around you? What sense does it make to attribute this infinite wonderment, to a tiny anthropomorphic god of war?

Why continue to ignore the presence and vibrancy of life within you, by believing that what is "worth knowing" is a deity or thing too limited and too tiny to be here now?

I suggest that instead of reading a Bible, you go deeper into the Truth that is already here and staring you in the face.
