jgnat,
Last year there was an article on the preaching work, and they even let go the necessity to gather in as much of the harvest as possible. The article intimated it is enough to "spread the seed", or, distribute magazines. -

I came in, I was a little boy when they changed the baptism questions! Org instead of Jesus! :)
But seriously, I am going to say something controversial for a moment and I don't care what any of you think. I wish the Watchtower was right about armageddon coming around the corner, but only about it's arrival. And then see on the Watchtower get judged about what they did as well as ALL the other churches. I think it sucks personally how it's 2005. Terrorist attack on New York (didn't that change everything!!!???), wars in the middle east -- Iraq, Afghanistan... Iran?, globalization... free trade... I think we've gone through enough as human beings throughout the centuries. :( It's been way too long since Christ and now it's the 21st century. :( I think we've let this world go really downhill it's about time the Savior came around. :( -

I remember the literal heart being the seat of motivation (70's)
This was a hot topic because of heart transplants. Articles claiming personality changes etc.
Then an article came out saying it is the figurative (there's that word again) heart rather than literal.
I wonder who in the gov body needed a transplant......?

A changing doctrine that got my honey in trouble is whether we get old (restored) bodies or young bodies in the resurrection. He picked up the "old light" on the CD and got mildly chastised for it.
For the life of me, I can't remember which the current light is. I think it is old (restored).

young bodies in the resurrection.
That option assures you no sex for eternity.... ....for the resurrected ones don't marry....says the Watchtower

Within the rank & file, there's probably more "closet apostasy" on this one doctine than any other. --Never met a JW that agreed with it.

TD that is so true. Even the most hard-core dubs disagree with this thought and are not afraid to say so (outside of the kingdom hall).
As for what was truth, when I was growing up anybody who went to college was looked at as practically wordly. Now I know of ministerial servants and pioneers (mostly boys in their late teens) who are going to college and don't get any flack at all. Sucks to be 30 and plenty smart but working a labor job because I followed popular opinion at the time and turned down scholarships.
