    Hi All,

Here is Emily at 8 months on the beach at Emerald Isle, NC. She's my latest grand daughter. You can see her personality in this picture. She also has a stubborn streak. It's interesting to see them develop into adults, I probably won't live long enough to see this, but I can hope anyway.

    Bye,

    Ken P

Awe, she's cute... we have two little lads but I'd love a girl.

I'll try and find some pics of them

Beautiful child, but what a shame that her Grandfather don't know what to tell her about God ... except that he's not even for sure that one exists. You know it's not only the responsibility of the childs mother and father to instruct the child in what she needs to know, it's also the burden of the grandparent in a secondary way.

whats even more of a shame is that emily could expect to
inherit that freaky hair growth seen in the lower
    right corner of that pic.

    Hi NYT,

I noticed the funny looking object there also. My daughter took the photo so I will ask her what it is. At least she won't inherit the stupid JW drivel about not growing up before Armageddon destroys her.

    Hi Friday,

I can give her the love and care that she needs to have a good life. As far as trying to dictate her faith I will let her find that for herself. Her mother has faith in God as well as her father. They can try to persuade her to follow their example, but she must ultimately decided for herself. I don't try to destroy anyones faith but I do ask questions at times to try to get them to think. I just can't find the evidence of a God as described by the bible writers, nor would I like such a God, especially the God of the Israelites. If God ever reveals himself to me in a way that I can understand I will be happy to be his friend.

:If God ever reveals himself to me in a way that I can understand I will be happy to be his friend.

God’s word has been deliberately written with a certain amount of obscurity in it. If it weren’t written down that way then even those who aren’t deserving of such knowledge would be blessed even as much as those who were in fact deserving to know. You know as well as I do that even humans mimic this same principle sometimes. You’ve heard people say: “I wouldn’t give that so-and-so the time of day!” And why not? Because so-and-so is considered to not deserve even that minor favor. There are many truths throughout the pages of the Bible that persons just have to prove themselves worthy of being privy to understanding them. This is even borne out in the 2nd chapter of Proverb, verses 1 thru 6. As in the case with literal gold as a treasure -- it generally takes much digging and hard, dedicated work to discover where it’s at -- so too with the gems buried in the Bible. The person that has no more than just a casual interest, and so therefore is not all that determined and is unwilling to work hard, will not find the treasures that lay waiting to be discovered in the Bible. This has been tried and proven in my own case, so I know it’s the truth because I’ve found some of the Bible’s treasures.

: If God ever reveals himself to me in a way that I can understand I will be happy to be his friend.

That treasure is there in the Bible. Is it that you are simply too infatuated with relaxation so as to pick up your pick and shovel and find that big hunk of gold? I really find it hard to believe sometimes that others and you here on this board (such as Farkel and AF, for example) have spiraled down to nothing when it comes to appreciation of what the Bible is all about. The root cause of such problems usually has its basis in one of the things mentioned at Matthew 13:3-7. You might pay particular attention to verses10-15, as it goes along with what I was saying above.
