    I wasn't that good of a "minister".

I had no incentive for it once I realised that the dubs were a cold society that lacked real love and was headed by a bunch of petty dictators in Brooklyn.

What was the point of bringing anyone in such a destructive environment? They are better off staying where they are.

I put it down to good luck. I was out in the service a lot (ex pioneer), and tried hard at times to get people to join, but no one did, thank goodness.

I actually did fairly well in bringing people into the organization. During my first five years or so I brought in six different people, one being an initial magazine placement. After I had problems I lost my confidence in the elders and the organization. I'm still a JW but now I just go through the motions and don't really try to bring people in. I suppose I stay a JW for the same reasons other people remain with their religion, comfort with most of the beliefs and family.

I worked very hard to not succeed... it takes a lot of practice to knock so that it looks GREAT from the car, but no one will hear you! Or push the bell just to the side so that you don't actually ring it!

Seriously though, my heart wasn't in it and I never wanted to bring anyone into what I lived with.

After I did a few calculations from Yearly Service Reports, I knew something was wrong so I didn't really try. I did 'help' one guy into da troof. He became a MS but was DF'd within a couple of years, thank God.

I tried hard. But, when you feel depressed and worthless most of the time, it would take a really stupid person to follow my lead into the wt fortress.
