if there is such a large percentage of the population wanting to indulge in adult child sexual relations one has to begin to question if it is accurate to call them perverted.

i found the show quite disturbing.

i feel bad for them that they can't control themselves.

i try to picture going over to a 13 year old boy's house when his parents aren't home to have sex with him, it just really weirds me out.

Whatever you call it, adults who prey on children for sex are selfish a$$holes. I was victimized as a child and teenager. I know the harm it can do and is still doing in my life.

My sister's sons, good jws, raped and tortured my daughter when she was five and possibly younger. She's 27 now. She lives in horrible pain everyday caused by the people who mistreated her. My nephews aren't the only jerks who did this to her, but they did the most harm to her. My nephews ranged in age from 11-15. Two of them are jws in good standing now. The harm grown up adults can do to children, by sexualizing them is not only pervertred and selfish, it's horrible and nightmarish. I don't feel sorry for them that they cannot control themselves. They choose not to get the help they need to learn and practice self control. Our society has little to offer to adults or teens who have these sexual compulsions towards children. Obviously, jail time and ruined lives are not a deterent. Still, they can seek help. They either don't care to seek help, or they're too embarrassed. Better to be embarrassed, than to inflict lifelong pain on a child. Once anyone sexualizes or molests a child, it can never be taken back. The child will never completely heal from the damage. The molestor, rapist has succeeded in f*&^ing up that kid's life to one extent or another.

Sadly, Mary Kay Laterno and other women like her are proving that women can victimize children and teens, too. It doesn't seem as common as when men do it. I don't blame libido for the difference in freqency. I blame society for training boys to feel they have a sexual entitlement.

That Rabbi made it to the head lines today in Israel:

Dateline NBC reports that Potomac rabbi, Prince George's County teacher, Eastern Shore doctor lose jobs for allegedly trying to solicit sex from minors online
    Associated Press

A Potomac rabbi who is part of a national youth group, a Prince George's County teacher and an Eastern Shore doctor have lost their jobs after allegedly trying to solicit sex from minors online. It was part of an undercover probe by the television show "Dateline NBC," that aired Friday night.

According to a statement from Rockville-based PANIM - The Institute for Jewish Leaders and Values, Rabbi David Kaye resigned from his position as vice president this week.

Prince George's County school officials say Steven Benoff, a special education teacher at Woodridge Elementary School in Prince George's, was fired August 23rd. Benoff, of Washington, was fired after Fairfax County, Virginia, police notified the system about "information relating to children."

After an investigation, Shore Health System of Maryland has barred an unnamed doctor who had worked at Memorial Hospital in Easton and Dorchester General Hospital, barred him from practicing at any system facility.

None of the men have been charged.

A "Dateline NBC" camera crew conducted an online sting with the Internet watchdog group, Perverted Justice, in which 19 men went to a house believing they would meet 12- to 14-year-old children.

Instead, they were confronted by "Dateline" reporter Chris Hansen.

Several other papers got drift too:

It is a matter of time before some high profile reporter takes a look at some abusive JW elders....nothing like international attention.

What would you suggest that we call them? Sexually-challenged adults? Who gives a damn if there's a "large percentage" wanting to do this. They should all be shot and pissed on in my opinion; and not necessarily in that order.

FlyingHighNow I nearly cried when I read your post.......I'm lucky. There's no history of sexual abuse in my family but my god, most of my friends (who are now ex-Dubs) certainly have had to contend with it. One close friend of mine was molested by her grandfather, her sister in law was molested by her own mother (another good Dub) when she was a kid and her two boys have now been molested by her half-brother. I know these boys and my heart just breaks for them. What bothers me the most is that the parents never got counselling for these kids. God only knows how this is going to come out later on in their lives.........the whole thing just makes me sick.

I'm always very happy to hear when adults made it to adulthood, unotuched. It makes the world seem like a lighter, brighter place. That makes me smile.

Carrie says to tell everyone, she has not turned 27 yet. She freaked when she saw I said 27. I am twenty years older than her and I just turned 47. Her birthday is not until March. Hehehe.

They've been playing clips from it all week on MSNBC.

I hope they win an Emmy or Pulitzer for this amazing program. I was utterly speechless by specialguy29, the rabbi, and everyone else.... I only hope the police do much more extensive sting operations to catch far more creeps in their net than they have been so far. Cause it seems they are everywhere.

When I was in the psych field I treated a few victims of female perps. It does happen. The female victims felt even more horrified because they thought it meant they themselves must be gay. Their male victims were humiliated because society thinks males cannot be forced to have sex.

It is known that male victims are less likely to report the abuse in the US because of the greater stigma associated with it. They are "supposed to" be strong, in control, etc. Also the abuse is less likely to be detected in a male because males do not get pregnant and are physically less likely to contract sexually transmitted diseases. (Sadly abuse in children is often detected because the victim gets a STD.)
