I can't tell you how many times while out in service I would have these disturbing feelings:"This is such a waist of time.""We are just driving our life away from NH to NH!" and"I'm acompolishing absolutly nothing!"I also wondered if this was really how Jehovah expected me to spend my life?
We would then go to the thursday night meeting and I 'd be told that these thoughts are wrong and I'd go away with more guilt and wonder what was wrong with me?
Well it turns out that I was right all along! It was a huge waist of time!
I've talked to lots of people since leaving about their oppinion of the work the JW's do and I continue to do so.Guess what? Not one said they look at us and think we represent the True God.Most view us as just another religion.
They for the most part have no bad feelings towards witnesses or the name JEHOVAH.They seem to be confused as to what their pourpose is and seem to see them as magazine and book salesmen.I was further shocked at the number that tell me that they dont even think of the witnesses because they've never had one at their home or that it's been 10-12 years since they've come by.
It's so weird to hear how people really view the witnesses instead of what we have been told at the meetings.
All that waisted Time!

Quite true.
I find that the bulk of people who know anything at all about the witnesses simply dismiss the whole group as a bit "kooky," and think of it only as the people who God-bother them on an otherwise nice Saturday morning. I have yet to meet any of those people who the Watchtower and AWAKE! were always quoting as to how they thought the wintesses were so wonderful.

I am more interested in meeting these science teachers who sing the praises of the creation book and brochure.. I want to make sure to keep my kids the HELL out of that school.

Ranchette, my experiences exactly.
What, Julien? You disagree with the physics teacher on the back page of the September 8 Awake! magazine?
She said: "I have never before read such a book [as the Creator book]. It explains complex scientific information so briefly and in such a simple and logical way! If I had received the book earlier, <drum roll >
I would not have bought the newest manual on physics for the high school."
!!!!!!! Did I read that right???
Who in their right mind would put this off-the-wall quotation on the back cover of Awake! Lord have mercy, there were over 20 million copies of this magazine!

ill ask this question again.
take a random sampling of adult individuals from around the world. ask them 1) if they have heard of jehovah's witnesses. 2) what message do JWs preach. how many would answer the first in the affirmative? i would guess less than 50%. what do you think? how many would mention something about the kingdom in the 2nd answer? you know, the theme of JW preaching, the basis upon which all these people are going to be judged? im guessing well under 10% here.

Absolute, truthful, accurate.
This is on the back cover of the mag. Anybody can check it out. g01-E 9/8 (Awake! September 8 2001) Pix of apparently the teacher and student, "Young Lukasz, who lives near Szczecinek in northern Poland."
It's an ad for the Creator book. "It highlights alternatives concerning the origin of the universe, which you too can contemplate." "You too can request a copy ... filling in coupon ..."
Max
Does no one else have a copy of this? There were 20,638,000 of them ...
Will try to get you a scan, Mox. -
