How Did You Feel When You Were Passed Up For A "Privilege"?

The Watchtower thrives on the pecking order. Who's in line next to "be used"? Who can we allow to "handle the microphones and mow the lawn"? Brother Willing should be an elder but he's only 20. So he stay's on as a miserable MS for 10 years while other less qualified brothers get appointed around him. And what about the sisters?? One sister always seems to be asked to be in parts at the assemblies and yet you never are asked! She's aRegular Phantom Pioneer though, and you're only an Aux.Pioneer......I believe many people seethe for years knowing they either don't have the right background, connections or (lack of) education.

When they stopped giving me talks, a glimmer of excitment rose up out of my depression. I never wanted to give then in the first place so not being allowed the "privelege" was more then okay with me.

I was a poster boy for "find upstanding brother" and was rarely ever passed over for a "privilege".

When they finally stopped imposing "privileges" on me it was a great weight lifted off of me.

When I was DF'd, then reinstated, I had my "privileges" withheld. Does that count?

I remember that REALLY upsetting me. Not that I cared to actually have the "privilege" of commenting/talks/pioneering/whatever, it just ate me up that they felt they could make up rules like that with no Biblical basis. I asked for their scriptural basis for this "restrictions" stuff, but they just showed me some weak-ass thing that had nothing to do with it.

But I still trudged on because "it's the truth"...

I have only given one talk in the con. that I am in! 1! At first I was like "the nerve" but now I'm like "I should be glad!" Damn those talks! They take forever to write up!

Its funny to watch all the girls my age in the hall always competeing with each other to give the best commentS during the WT study and to get parts during the serivce meeting.

In the words of Fran Drescher: OY VEY!

It made me feel like the kid in high school who wasn't cool enough and so everybody excludes him, making him feel embarrassed. (I wasn't that kid in high school, I promise!) It's like the football players vs. the one computer geek in the corner. The geek is probably the cooler one, it's just the fact that he's different from the group, so the others use that fact against him.

It was irritating for me. I held the mics for a while and then all of a suddon for some reason my name no longer appeared on the list. They still let me mow the lawn though. How do you like them apples?
