OK, I want to make this perfectly clear: There's no physical attraction between the two of us----we simply don't view each other that way. While I know the Borg always frowned upon men and women being "just friends", I'm definitely the acception to the rule. I've always had lots of guy friends and it never went beyond that........I'm just trying to figure out whether or not I should tell him that I don't go anymore.......I have a feeling that if I just tell him I'm discouraged, then he wouldn't care, but if I came out and told him that I know this isn't "the Truth" anymore and I don't believe most of the doctrines, then that would probably change things......oh lordy, I need a "heart of wisdom" right about now.......

Mary we believe you!!! But,,,I have to tell this.. This came from my sister. My elder brother, the pious pustule, wasn't getting any from his regular pioneer wife, was in his old home town, called up an "old friend". They got it on, for 3 days. Then he had to go home. Somebody confessed to JC. Both DF,d.

But for 3 days, it was FUN, FUN, FUN!!!!! HL Couldn't have happened to a worse, more judgemental guy.

You should be full of confidence knowing the truth of the truth.

I'd have coffee with him and once the JW subjecy comes up just say, "Oh, yeah, I haven't been in quite a while". If it bothers him he can leave. And you can sit there proudly, knowing you are not ruled in fear any longer.

Mary, I think I'd take Grace's view on this one hon....she could be right....however, I'd go, and enjoy his company. Talk about the good ol' days....get a feel of what he's REALLY doing for the "truth", and go from there....but by all means, be careful....you still have family "IN".....love ya girl.

I agree with Bryan a few posts above me.

If you were good friends, just go and act like you normally would around him. If the subject happens to come up, and if he does then just tell him you're not involved anymore. A good friend would ask why. If he does that then you can decide how far you want to go with it. I've done this with long time friends who don't live by me and who I rarely see, and when I give them reasons they seem to accept it and let it go. Then things go on as normal. I haven't had any old friends treat me badly even though they know how I feel as I have told them.

If it goes like most conversations with old friends, you get to talking about mutual acquintances and old times. Did he move away or did you? If you did he will have contact with all the old people and you will be asking about everyone and he will be busy telling you what's happened. If he moved away, then he will be asking you and you can just say you don't see them anymore as you are no longer involved, or tell him what gossip you have heard if any.
