We will be having a second "real" Christmas this year. Last years was a bit low key but this year the Christmas Tree will be setup in the main living area of the house, last year we hid it from the relatives. The kids are so excited they talk about it everyday.
How many are having their first "real" Christmas this year?

As it's my first xmas I want to do it properly, so I have to arrange a few things:
at least two of the adults must engage in a fight,
one of the younger teenagers must overimbibe in eggnog and vomit on the carpet,
an older teenager must either come out, leave home or crash a car,
a creepy older uncle must put some moves on one of the young wives,
a layabout sibling must arrive at 3 am needing money,
near-forgotten cousins must share their cigarettes with the youngest children,
a hostess must suffer a near breakdown over the quality of one of the sauces,
somebody's new boyfriend has to be suspected of stealing a family heirloom
... let me know if I've forgotten anything

Last year I wanted to have a real Christmas but felt so overwhelmed by it all.
This year I am going to try do it properly. My first one. It's a little scary but I'm so tired of missing out and after years of being isolated on Xmas day I want to make the most of it!

I ejected out of the cult last November but didn't celebrate Christmas because I was still getting everything together. I will celebrate this year. As a matter of fact, just got in a few minutes ago from helping our church set up the stage and tree for our annual Living Christmas Tree.
