What Would It Take

I studied with one of the "anointed" and so was privy to her ideas and reasonings on certain subjects. She kept count on the yearly numbers and paid unbelievable attention to them. As there were 4, yes 4, others in our congregation, there was plenty of talk about this subject.

She was positive that there would always be a number of the F&DS class on earth to live through Armageddon, no matter when it occured. There HAD to be to lead us all into the new system. There wouldn't be some 8000, but there would be a fair share.

The reason the numbers went down and back up was because there would obviously be ones who fell away and Jehovah was actively anointing newer and younger ones all the time. She was in her early 40's. The others were all mid 30's to late 50's, all sisters. My last year with that cong., 2 of them left the truth which proved her point.

Then a mutual friend of ours, his younger brother, maybe 25ish, got the calling. They had been raised in the truth, but because of abusive parents left at an early age. His brother had been back in and baptised less time than me! I was like what the hell, but you can't question it. When you know it, you know it. She wrote hom letters to "congradulate" him and see how he related to things. He convinced her, I never met him.

So, there you go...from those who KNOW...Jehovah will always be anointing younger and younger ones therefore the numbers will never go to zero. Sounds pretty reasonable, eh?

It takes a setback in the area the member is getting her rewards. For most, it takes a social setback. Disfellowshipping is the ultimate social setback and that works well for many of us. Usually a drug addict uses her drug as long as that drug is working. When the drug stops working the member most likely will leave. Some like me, it takes two decades to completely leave.

    Welcome Nestle

I just felt it necessary to point out that the vast majority of those claiming to be of the annointed have absolutely NOTHING to do with putting together the publications, doctrines anything at all. It is a select few who have any input in that department. Its just another example of the society making the remnant appear to be something they are not.

I personally don't think the number will ever dwindle to 0. I remember the last few years I was going to meetings I compared the partakers numbers every year and they NEVER went down. This used to confound me. It didn't make any sense. But then a lot of what they preach does not make any sense.

How do you know that miss peaches? Did you work there? Do you have FIRST hand knowledge of HOW they do things up there?

Just keep going along with the organisation and what it says and you'll be alright..... in their eyes, that is.

In my opinion it's always good to see what "the other side" says -- to be balanced; to know what others currently think of the society & the Witnesses

wow, ur one of the only three Jehovahs witnesses who will honestly say this... good for you... otherwise man, all youre doing is spewing more oportunities for the dubs to hold u down... "if they dont fulfill their prophecy, i will give them a little time to come up with something... if its good enough, then ill stay"

damn man, they have failed on so many prophecies, why would i believe anything they say now... its been enough..

There is some New Light to justify the non-anointed in the Governing Body, something about the Levites having attendants or something. That will have to be reviewed as all of the anointed die though. And they will, don't question that.

My question would be, if God was going to step in before things got too bad on earth, why not before 6 million Jews were executed sixty years ago? Ten million Cambodians twenty years ago? Twenty million Rwandans ten years ago? Before most of Africa got infected with HIV? Before a third of the planets' species were made extinct over the last century? Before the planets' temperature control system had the thermostat broken?

Are you going to keep accepting new versions of Truth? Will you still be doing that when you're rotting in a nursing home you can't afford because you were never going to need superannuation? Stop giving them room to make excuses for their lies. They've stolen this much of your life. Reclaim your future. Sorry sweetheart but you have to entertain the notion that it's not on a Paradise Earth with only JW's for company.
