A line out of a brother's talk to the affect that how unloving a place the world is. Then, he listed various characteristics as proof. One of them was how people don't even know their nieghbors. That generally isn't true. But, i found that lament to be hypocritcal, because jws are told not to associate w the world, and so, most jws would rather not get to know their nieghbors.

How come Bethelites and CO's can take your cash and yet they have taken vows of poverty?
My ex and I were close friends with a CO and his wife. When we were invited to the apartment they lived in on the East Knoxville KH grounds I thought about some of the brothers in the area and how fabalous the apartment was compared to their humble abodes. Then I looked out the window and saw the new WT leased Buick that the CO had just picked up the week before.
When they notified the public speakers that they had to follow the talk outlines word for word, as the Society had written them. Same thing for assembly talks.
Heck, no need to study or mature. Just be a good reader! My nine year old daughter might as well give the talk, she could read just as good as me!

I never understood the not being able to listen to outside viewpoints, or read literature that people gave us at the door. I always figured if they read ours it was only polite. And documentaries on tv about the witnesses were offlimits, why? People in our territory were reading and watching such things so shouldnt we know them in order to refute them. And again as was mentioned, if it was the truth then how could it sway us. I heard a lot about being mislead but no amount of charisma could convince me that 1+1=3!

The play acting and coming to the shocking realization that no real love is present within the organization, but it was all merely an illusion, a psychological ploy called "love bombing". The lack of regard for what Christ's message was, the organization assuming his rightful position, the act of removing the personal relationship with God and Christ, and the untruth of claiming the bible is an organizational book, which was a blaring contradiction with what the bible states.

I always found it interesting that if persons in the congregation gossiped or even slandered another, they could get df'd. But elders do it everytime they have an elder's meeting! They tear down people like you wouldn't believe in their roles as "shepherds".
That we could blast other religions but if they blasted us it was persecution.
That I could discuss my religious views with worldly people without harm to myself, but to hear what apostates have to say would poison me.
Some times I would be struck, stunned, depressed at all the people I liked around me who were just meat sacks if they didnt change before The great day of god almighty. I guess that was the main reason for being so active in the ministry.
The huge waste of time, resources, and money at the Rosenburg ass hall in Texas. I knew a bro that resigned from the commitee there because of it.
