I recruited friend of my 14 year old. We made a plan. Tackled the living room first. 2 story house. Put everything not being sold on stairs. Made room for marking of sale items. We worked for 30 minutes marking, quit for doing a little laundry and a diet coke, break almost over, I am going to teach them what junk mail is, Will work on that for a few minutes, think it will go fast, They really are pumped.

I need encouragement, Keep it coming. Please HL Thanks everybody. I can picture the future, and its clean!!!

(((HL))) -- The house that my ex- still lives in and that I sort of abandoned at the beginning of this month sounds like your place. It's so messy, I'd hestitate to have a cleaning crew come in! I am tackling it little by little from the peace and tranquility of my temporary digs.

Meanwhile -- CONGRATS for what you've accomplished thus far, and good idea to recruit help! Who is carrying the stuff upstairs while you continue deciding on the prices of the items for sale? The young legs, I hope!

I had (have sometimes!) the same problem. This board is damn addictive!!! I found I'm here more when I'm bored with my life. *shrug* But a couple weeks ago, I went on a camping trip with my husband and it was a life changing event for me. That weekend I had a bit of a spiritual "epiphany". That this life has SOOO much to offer and I'm missing it by sitting in front of this computer. So since then I've started making lists of things I want to do everyday. Little things like, have ice cream for breakfast, walk my dog for 10 minutes in the neighborhood, have a Starbucks/Barnes and Nobles date with myself, sit in a restaurant and have a cup of soup and read. Silly things that don't take much time or money, but do a lot to enrich my life. Life with myself and God. The point was to feed myself mentally and emotionally. I have to say that it's helped a lot! When I can enjoy the little things in life, I want more...not less...thus my time on the computer lately has tapered a bit.

Also, last weekend I had our Mission Yard Sale. Which has done LOADS for my cleaning bug. I cleaned out my closets like crazy and then some. It felt SO GOOD to get the stuff out of my house!!! (I even vacuumed my closet space, which NEVER happens.) Since then I'm much more particular about how my house looks. I don't want it to get back to the way it was. So much easier to maintain than do big clean ups!!!

horrible life

We have been working very hard. Childs friend went home with $20.00 for helping, and a smile on her face. Wish she could have stayed longer. We have everything marked, that I had out already. (Which was alot) Went to husbands warehouse, and got sawhorses, sheets of wood, tables, etc, and put them outside already.

I want to sell more!!! Even child and husband are taking things away from me, that I want to sell. My house is sooo big, and I have so many places I have stored junk for the past 13 years, It's unbelievable how much you can collect. This is an old family home. When we moved in, there was a very little old house out back, filled with junk. When we finally got around to tearing it down, the termites had distroyed most of what was in there. Execpt old flower pots, glass jars, a budda statue, some antique odds and ends. SELL, SELL, SELL.

I have thought of the computer many times today, but I have stayed away. Thanks to all for the cheering on . I might be up all night, I am on a roll.

Some of this stuff I know I could sell it on EBAY, if I knew how. But I'm not going to bother. HL you all are really helping me. Who knows, a apostafest at my house???????????

HL I thought of you all day and I envied you!!!
I love getting rid of unwanted stuff! The results are fabulous afterwards as you put your house back together again minus the crud! And the money is nice too!

Where I live now is a canyon paradise but no garage sales exist out in these boonies.

When I part with something it must go to town to the local thrift store.

I donate about once a month. I fill my trunk with donations and make the trip. When its gone it feels so good! And donating is like finding it another home!

I am getting very tired. Just cleaned out kitchen cabinets. Lots of ashtrays. (I am smoke free 3+ years) I do feel like I have accomplished alot today, but wish I had started long ago.

You all are great for keeping me going. I'll be up for a little while yet.
