it is only the general interest Awake articles that most non JW's would have read anyway.
Which begs the question, how much of either mag does the average dub read?
Oooh, I have a thought for a Weekend Poll!

My sister, who goes to a big mega church in Texas, works in the church's bookstore and I'm pretty sure its a regular retail operation. I wonder if the WTS will ever move towards having a bookstore type setup where you'd have to actually buy bibles (nice ones) or bound volumes or bookbags with set prices and sales tax. They could even make it online so the KH's wouldn't have to soil their spirituality with commerce...although it didn't bother them for all those years when the mags had a price printed right on the front.
...or would that mean that they'd have to start paying their workers at least minimum wage?
I think they should dump the Elders handbook first!

Don't forget that to "place" magazines you simply visit the homes and nobody calls every month.
Unless it is a regular route call you simply use the same Awake all month in the service . So instead of ordering say 10 of each bi monthly issue, Jo Publisher orders 10 WT and 20 of the monthly AW.
Same result but saves the printing of 13 issues a year.
That was funny Danny
Dump it here !!!!!!!!!!!!
I think after a little more time has passed they will drop the WT back to once a month also in an attempt to "simplify" things for the publishers. The publishers will naturally have to be reminded that even though their spiritual food™ has been cut in half the need for "donations" remains the same.
Danny, that was RESPLENDENT!!!!

Dude, there aren't many alternatives here, if they are forced to keep cutting to save money.
The Awake costs millions per run and really doesn't do much. I doubt they will cut Gilead or
Circuit Overseers - and Bethel's already been downsized. Selling off real estate only funds
things temporarily - that's how they got the new presses 'cause contributions didn't cover it.
