Metatron suggested on a recently started Thread the WTBTS may dump the Awake completely. I personally think this would be too much for them - however, I predict the BOUND Volume will be just one in 2007 - the WT/Awake for 2006 combined -certainly would save some money. Also may eventaully go CD-ROM only.

Gee....I dunno Stilla....What about all those poor folks who have to travel through pirhana-infested waters to travel three days to get to their "spiritual food" do in this case? If they live in huts, and meet in huts....what are they gonna plug into to access the CDs?
The WTS would have to take this into their "loving" consideration, and make it "easier on the brothers"......like that's gonna happen!

It would be a big mistake on their part. It was usally the Awake that got the people at the door to take the Watchtower along with it.

This makes me think back to the many times that I was able to place an AWAKE rather than the WT when the brilliant WTS would plaster an insane picture of the Pope on the cover and expect the public to accept that!
Both areas that I have lived in here in the Northeast are heavily into Catholicism, and it was bad enough trying to get them to take the mags...when they weren't covered with something offensive to their religion! I always hid the WT underneath and offered the AWAKE featuring "The Mongoose----Is It God's Joke"?

the awake is still more interesting than the national enquirer....and people still buy it every week

i am a bit surprised they dropped the semimonthly issue. I thought the only reason anyone ever took the Watchtower was because they wanted the Awake that came with it. I doubt many people read the Watchtower articles, it is only the general interest Awake articles that most non JW's would have read anyway.
I wonder if the number of Watchtowers printed will drop without its partner Awakes being printed.
