i like to think the sisters enjoyed having me all to themselves on those lonely weekday mornings.... he he

then again, perhaps i should have just stayed out of their hair...

but i never took taking the group very seriously at all. most times i would just talk a bit about a couple of "experiences" they had, then look around the room at all the sisters and say something like: "well, it looks like you marines know what you're doing, so lets just have a prayer."

You had to lead the sisters, after all if they lead you might be led to eat an apple or something.

In our hall we had a severely handicapped brother, physically and mentally, but because he was baptised, if he showed up at the group we had to ask him to say the prayer.. he could barely get his words out and we couldn't understand. Or another sister would do it and put a tea towel on her head. ...arrggggghhh. Because we obviously just were not FIT to pray, after all we were WOMEN!

Oh yes, the old Adam and Eve story. You know, it's funny how they can make that story support male headship. If it was a true story then it would show why men are unfit to lead. They're obviously born followers. Even though he wasn't fooled, he went along with it anyway.

For a newly baptised 14 or 15 year old male to be put in charge just because of their dangly parts was pretty insulting,

You're just dealous because your parts aren't dangly. ;-)

Just because she's a feminist, doesn't make her wrong

The experienced elderesses' reminders and or indirect compulsions to the snivvly dorks is a form of subtle power. Certainly it's one of the few avenues of power they have but it's there.

Ha! The thought crossed my mind, but I wasn't going to go there. ;-)
