    G'day all,

Well, I can brave most things but I've yet to find an answer to those "I've got a mind of my own" supermarket trolleys! Talk about ambidextrous - those wheels can go in opposite directions at the same time!

Of course, all that will change in the "new system" TM

Yes, in the new system every imaginable material desire will be satisfied - well, that's what the WT preaches!

So, our weekend poll this weekend asks us a question that isn't so much about reminiscing as much as revealing our hopes and how they will be realised, according to all things dubdom.

    The question is:

In the new system, do you think that supermarket trolleys will stear straight ?

    1. No, there won't be any qualified trolley mechanics who survive Armageddon.

    2. Yes, because the elders will make sure you 'qualify' before you can drive one.

    3. Supermarket trolleys will be classed as worldly and so not allowed.

    4. Only those with "privileges" will be able to get one.

    5. No. there won't be any modern products in the new system.

    6. No, there won't be any 'worldly' supermarkets.

    7. Yes, because all things will be perfect.

    8. Yes, because only those people with perfect bodies will be able to get one.

    9. No, because there won't be any shopping!

    10. Yes, because the scripture says there will be "a new heavens and a new Wal-Mart".

    11. Nah, the wheels will fall off it just like the WTS.

    12. Other (well, what do you think?)

    Enjoy!

    Cheers, Ozzie (permanently upside-down class)

    12. Other (well, what do you think?) There will be loads of people who aspire to have their buggy repair skills reach perfection. We call 'em buggies down south.

It's actually from Dictionary.com. I was hoping they'd include that we southerners call shopping carts buggies. At one time, I thought everyone called them buggies. But in Michigan they call them carts and here in Connecticut they call them carriages. I think it's charming: the differences in dialect between England, Australia and America. And from region to region in each of those countries.

How can it rightly be called a cart?? A cart uis something that you pull behind you but a shopping trolley is something you push in front of you.

Once again the downunder mob get it right!!

    oh i get it now!

FHN you are 90% right in calling them buggys. A trolley is something you ride on, in San Francisco. I have called it a cart before, but that does sound a lot like farming, and I can picture chickens. (Don't ask me why, I'm tired)

But here in Oklahoma, there is a wide spread movement, I don't know who, or what organization, probably some real high ups, They have started calling them BASKETS. Some people are fighting the change, but they are taken care of immediately.

As for your question. They will all be eliminated. We will just look up to the heavens, and ask Jehovah to provide our groceries. They will appear on the table, or we may have to go pick it up outside our mountain cottages, with a view. HL

We call it a shopping cart here in Kansas. Are we all talking about the same thing?

number 6. there wont be supermarkets in the new system.
In every Watchtower picture of the New System that I remember, each family has their own little vegetable garden to eat from. Since there are no roads, even if there was a supermarket there would be no way to drive the groceries home. And of course there won't be any butcheries.
And about the trolleys, of course Ozzie has the correct term.
