Well it's my first Christmas and I am EXCITED!!!! I am shopping for giftola's, and on Saturday the b/f bought me my very first Christmas tree! HURRAH!!!!

I thought it would be a relatively easy project. But it took me four hours to put the whole thing together. Did you know you have to thread all those bloody balls? Oi!?!?

Anyway here it is. My first christmas tree! I'd love to see your guys trees here too if you care to post....

Christmas in summer seems a strange notion to me. How is it celebrated over there?

    Hi John Doe

Christmas in summer seems a strange notion to me. How is it celebrated over there?

As I understand it it's not much different to how its celebrated other places except that everyone is BOILING HOT. I've had the run down of events from the b/f and my flat mate.... Gifts are exchanged in the morning then the family gets together for a massive christmas lunch. There is usually seafood - prawns, oysters, calamari etc and a roast with roast vegies and salads. An assortment of desserts, trifle, baked fruits, icecream etc. LOTS OF ALCHOHOL... he he he. A clean up and then everyone sits around trying get cool and napping away.

I LOVE this time of year. Thanksgiving night we were already setting out our Christmas decorations and putting the tree up. We had bought a whole bunch of stuff last year on holiday clearance, that I had actually forgotten about, so opening up the red rubbermaid containers this year was just like... Christmas!

We have a couple of trees in our house, but this is the main one in the living room. It's a sort of history book for our family. Things the kids have made the past few years and "First" ornaments. (Baby's First Christmas etc) The kids always help us decorate it, which is a wonderful family tradition I'm glad THEY don't have to miss out on!

Well, I don't live at home, so I do as I damn well want. My father looks at the lights in my windows and the tree with daggers in his eyes, but he knows why I decided to celebrate the holidays, I explained it clearly.

He and my mother are living together, so she tries not to make him overly upset..he is already ticking about a let it snow decoration and chrysenta...(what's that red winter flower's name!?) in the kitchen. Thought since the daycare is in the basement, we have one of those mini-trees there. And let me tell you it's decorated for all it's worth! It looks pretty cute!

Merry Christmas! Have a blessed Yule and a Happy Saturnalia!

I have a little 2.5' tree that I put on top of the tv cabinet. My first tree in about 19 years. I just like all the sparkly lights. LOL

I have some real bitty little trees (12 inches and less) that I want to put teeny dollhouse lights and little mushroom birds on. I think that's my project for tomorrow. Have to get out the gaudy fiber optic fake pointsettia that I acquired last year. That goes up by my computer. It's a bit much, but it is colorful.

And it's not a tree... but it's one of my favorite Christmas things

Victorian Village that lights up and has moving features... little dancers in one of the windows and ice skaters. The living room looks so pretty with all the lights off and just this and the tree lit up.
