  I can only imagine how angry that would make me too! I no longer live in the city that I was DFed in, so I don't have to deal with what you do. I'm sorry it hurts! But I'm with Shaneliza - kill 'er with kindness! Look at it this way. Perhaps you could be a witness to HER. Maybe she just needs a little seed of doubt planted into HER heart and brain. Maybe with your Christian actions of always being polite, it will change her mind. Don't get mad. Just look at it as you trying to help her. Isn't that ultimately a dream for many exJWs? To help others out of The Tower?

  I'm sorry for the terrible way this girl is treating you. As you said, all you did was write a letter of resignation from the Society, it's not as if you did any gross sin or anything.

  I agree with the others when they say to kill her with kindness. Let her see that you are no worse than anyone else, and the others will see how stupid the shunning doctrine is.

  Explain to every one about the JW shunning it makes them look ridicules, and it is. I decided to tell anyone, when the subject comes up, about this cult practice. One women (friend) I told the other day had a knock at her door, it was the local PO and the CO, she told them "you better get the fuck out of here". I spit my beer out laughing at that one. It can become fun to expose this archaic practice.

  I typically don't reply to threads unless I have something to add, but this one will be an exception.

  I understand your initial anger, but you can turn this "shunning crap" around to really having some FUN with these circumstances.

  As others have advised, carry on with the upmost professionalism, courtesy, etc., etc., and make a total ASSHOLE out of the shunner for all to see.

  If you could get away with it, leave a copy of CoC lying in plain view in your personal workspace. Read it during breaks. Respond to inquiries about what you are reading so that the shunner can hear.

  On and On. The possibilites are endless.

  When handed lemons, make lemonade!

  Thanks for your replys , everyone. Being shunned is still new to me and I'm surprised at how bad the sting is.
  Mad Apostate, yesterday I brought Crisis of Concience to work with me as well as some copies about shunning to give to another student whose fiance studies with witnesses. She took the book and had it lying out in the open all during class.
  While doing manicures, I answered her questions about shunning and odd beliefs that JW's have. EVERYONE got a witness. I agree with you all that I should kill her with kindness . Its difficult to do.
  Her expressions, on her face, are as if I were total trash. I would really love to get right in her face and tell her that I did nothing to be ashamed of and that she can wrinkle up her nose all she wants and that the feeling is mutual. For now I'll be nice. I also once had that same mind set.
