Has anyone else read Revelation 6:2 and came to the conclusion that the rider of this white horse is non other than Satan? The surrounding context does not support that of the Christ, as the WTS says. Any thoughts? Either that or is the rider Abaddon which ascends out of the abyss?

I thought Satan rode a Harley, far more staunch than a pussy white horse !!!

We posted in an earlier thread about how the Society has flip-flopped about Abaddon, about whether he is Jesus or Satan...couldn't keep those two apart...and it's not the only time they were mixed-up about Jesus and Satan...I guess it's really easy to confuse Jesus with Satan, no?

One possibility is that the bowman on the white horse refers to the Parthians which were dreaded in the Eastern empire in the 1st century... this is at least a plausible non-Christic explanation.

Truly I say to you, I have never seen him on a white horse. In fact, I don`t think he`s that good with horses, ever since that horrible accident (when he fell on his big torture-fork). And I ride thru there quite often.

I've often wondered about this. I've read Carl Olof Jonsson's theory but was not totally convinced. If the rider is Satan it seems incredibly odd that scripture would portray him in remarkably similar terminology and imagery as Jesus is portrayed later in Revelation 19, therefore I doubt that he is Satan.

If the other horse riders are symbolic for conditions or states, eg, death or famine, then to be consistent it would seem more logical to say that the rider on the white horse is also symbolic of something, eg, some type of conquest, rather than representative of a personality, like Jesus or Satan. Very puzzling.

That actually makes more sense when re-reading it. Thanks.
