Of course Chet Atkins-have you heard the album he and Knopfler did together(Neck and Neck-I believe)......awesome picking.
And Dickie Betts-how did I forget him?

I have to put Knopfler at the top of my list. He is the only guitarist that I always know who-it-is playing, even if I have never heard the song before.

Here is a quote from Chet Atkins I took from the paper the day he died, I thought it aplied well to all kinds of art, and just life in general:

"In 1995, he told the LA times that the reason he was still performing on the guitar was that he was still trying to "get it right".

"I've never expressed myself musically the way I would like," he said. " Because of that, I've had a long career. I've never been able to sit back and say: 'Wasn't I great? Listen to the one I made in 1958!'"

I gotta admit, Seven does seem pretty damn sweet. Good taste in music too.

I love Ice Cream---Ben and Jerry's is always good,
    We forgot FRANK[zappa] and JERRY[garcia],
    LINDSEY[buckingham] and STEPHEN[stills]
are always good live. Stephen could have been
a contender just didn't have the drive.

    : 1. Andres Segovia

Without question. At least in my lifetime. John Williams and Julian Breme are close, but Segovia is still the touchstone.
