Gosh -a few options

a) They'll choose a not too close/distant date and submit suspect calculations as to how they got there - and 90% of Dubs will swallow it.

b) They'll start at 1914 and keep adding various WT numbers to it -so the Dubs can make a valid connection.

c) The New Light (tm) will be 2034 as the START date (1914+120), which will give them plenty of thinking time.

d) They will use the 'generation' of 1914 (which is so predominant it would be fatal to ditch it) to manipulate further what a 'generation' is.

They will do what they need to do, and the sheep will continue on sheepishly. The JW religion will eventually go manistream or disappear, but they're still pactically brand new as religions go. The Mormons went through a long period of extreme nuttery before going mainstream.

I just figured it out.

Just as they came up with a invisible presence of Jesus, they will proclaim that the tribulation and armageddon came and went invisibly, and that we are now living in a spiritual/invisible new world. They will further explain that these invisible happenings are the Heavenly Prototypes of the earthly realities still to come. Just hang in there! This is exactly what they will do.

I've got a better one; it's a little far-fetched, but that hasn't stopped them before. Here goes (you'll need your abacus at hand):

Noah's 120 years; 1 day= 1000 years, therefore 120x365 (approx) = 43800000 / 2520 (of course!) = 17,380 / 4 (horsemen of the Apocalypse) = 4345. The "Jubilee" ("The Watchtower," 1922-NOV-1, Pages 333 & 346) began in 1575 BC); 4345 years from 1575 BC brings us to 2770 (but no year 0, so 2769); and as Armageddon will occur most likely in just a day (360 years), then Armageddon will actually begin around 2409, and be over and done with by 2669. I may have made some errors along the way, but I'm not the only one ... am I ;)

Haven't you been keeping up with the new light? They have already changed the generation to be not a person's lifetime but just a period of time with certain characteristics. I think it came out in the 1995 Wt. I read it on this board I think.

I would think those who put their hopes in 1975 would be pretty upset that it has been move up to 2014. If they have stuck it out this long and stick it out to 2014 they are probably the type that just accept and go along with whatever the WT tells them.
